The Light of God Brings a Fresh Perspective

Jan. 3. Father, Your word says “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways - THEN I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chron. 7:14)  Prayer must be accompanied by action, if it is to be effective. What action is God talking about? It may just be as simple as changing your mind about something you have believed incorrectly. Maybe it’s an attitude that God wants to weed out, or, often times people try to fill a void in their life with something that cannot satisfy. Only when our hearts are filled with God can we feel fulfilled, satisfied, at peace and whole. Whatever it is, God is not asking you to give something up without a good cause. He knows what the enemy intends to use to harm you or shortchange you of your blessings. Every one of us struggles with something. Today we pray to be able to see things from a fresh perspective, for the Lord is only trying to protect us. His only motive is LOVE! Whatever it is, it is between you and your Father, and He will show you if you ask Him. You cannot overcome the enemy by a silent struggle in your head. You must speak out the Word of God for it is the only weapon the devil will listen to! Arm yourself with the right scriptures. Get someone to help you if you need help finding the right ones, but you can’t fight without a weapon! Post them on your bathroom mirror, post them in your car, wherever…but determine that you have gone around this same mountain long enough and it’s time for a change! If you will use the Word of God, just like Jesus did, you can get the same results and overcome the enemy. Letting go may mean all the difference between heavens that are shut up and heavens that open above you. Study Jacob in Genesis 28. Jacob encountered God in an unexpected place (a place he didn’t want to be) and the heavens unexpectedly opened. Angels gave him revelation all night in a dream, and when Jacob awoke he had a change of heart about a lot of things. The first thing Jacob did was determine to worship. The next thing he did was make a declaration that he was changing the name of the city! It had been named Luz, which means ’light.’ Jacob changed it to Bethel, which means ’house of God.’ The light of God met Jacob in an unfamiliar place and gave him a profound experience that changed his heart! Because of that experience, to Jacob it became the house of God. Jacob proclaimed, “Surely the Lord is in this place and I did not know it! How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God and this is the gate of heaven!”  The wonderful thing is, when God showed up, He didn’t talk to Jacob about why he was running away, He didn’t bring up any sin issues…No, God gave Jacob a promise for His future. Isn’t that wonderful? That is how loving and kind our Father is! It is the kindness of God that leads people to repentance, and the revelation of that is what gave Jacob the confidence to trust God with his future. The third thing Jacob did was make a vow to God. He knew God was with him and for him and so he told the Lord he would start giving something back to Him. That was how he started offering a little bit back to the Lord. He just wanted to show his gratitude. When the heavens opened, Jacob got to see what he couldn’t see before, and then he started to get excited about it. This is how we should be when we receive a truth that changes our mind about something God is trying to show us! Are you ready for God to speak? When the heavens open up, revelation flows. Anointing increases. Joy returns. Our hearts are revived.

God has not dealt with us according to our sins nor punished us according to our iniquities. (Ps. 103:10). “For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. (Ps. 103:11,12). If only we could truly grasp how kind and loving You are, Jesus! No other person, no other god, has ever laid down their life for us like You did! No other god in the history of mankind ever humbled themselves to allow themselves to be unjustly accused, whipped, mocked, scorned, and crucified to pay the price for our sins. You deserve our praise and worship! You are good, and Your mercies endure forever! We declare the truth about who You are, and we thank You for Your great mercy!

Pray: Father, I thank You that our sins are forgiven. Jesus, you are so merciful and gracious, You forgave us for our sins even before we asked - before You went to the cross. Although You forgave, we have at times rejected your goodness and mercy and perhaps even blamed you for things we didn’t like in our life. We have attempted to fill the void in our lives with things other than You. For that we repent. Holy Spirit, we ask for ourselves, and each family member (name specific people), as well as those in the city of_____, that You would give each one of us a heart to understand truth and eyes to see from a new perspective. We ask for anointed dreams, angelic messengers, and a spirit that is sensitive to You. Help us recognize the form of Your communication, but also Your heart. Give to each person the change of heart that is needed so that we can adjust our thinking and come into alignment with Your will. Let our hearts be willing to be obedient and submit to You.

I declare this is the gate of the Lord and revelation flows from heaven. Let the heavens be opened, in Jesus name!

I declare hearts are changing quickly to align with You, in Jesus name, for it is written, ‘I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord, and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart.’ (Jer. 24:7) Thank you, Father, for hearing our prayers and declarations. In Jesus name,  amen.
