Gone are the days of comfortable Christianity. As we look at the world around us, negative reports of violence, terrorist activity and war saturate the news. Keeping a positive state of mind can be a challenge when spiritual warfare is so evident all around us. For some, it even keeps us up at night in intercession.
We are at a time in history when we simply cannot afford to play around. Our faith is going to require something of us. I was awakened in the night with such a disturbing dream that I was compelled to pray for those being persecuted for their faith. At the late hour and fogginess by extreme tiredness, all I could do was pray, "Oh Lord, hide them from the enemy. Comfort your people. Protect them. Send your justice against the proud, wicked oppressor!" In the light of day, I realized that God does not always save His people from the destruction set against them. Sometimes, people are martyred. Sometimes they do endure extreme conditions, and it's heartbreaking. We don't always know His will but we can always pray and extend our faith, knowing that He hears our prayers and uses each one of them to accomplish His purposes. What I realized though, is that we ought to be praying more for wisdom, strategy and a powerful anointing to stand up against the tactics of wicked destroyers. Though God does not delight in the destruction of wicked people, and though He desires that no man perish but come to eternal life, we must realize that God's love is balanced with justice. There are some enemies that are so bent on evil that they pose a terrible threat to multitudes, and an enemy like that cannot be trusted, or tolerated. We strive to win as many as possible over with love as the Bible states, but there are those that don't want love and will never be won over by any amount of kindness. As we pray for God's love to draw those that are destined for salvation, we also pray for His judgment and justice upon those that will never repent for their wickedness. Only He knows who will come to Him and who will not, but our hearts must be free from prejudice and bitterness. God listens to the petitions of the innocent at heart. The spiritual warfare is increasing upon the earth and we must have ears to hear and a heart quick to obey when God speaks.
"Make me to know the way I should go, for to You I lift up my soul." Ps. 143:8
Without obedience to the Word of God, we cannot receive His wisdom.
Without obedience, we won't receive strategies or understanding of the plots and schemes of the enemy.
Without obedience, we won't be let in on the secrets that God knows and desires to tell us.
Without obedience, we cannot be granted a powerful anointing that can stand up against the enemy's warfare.
"He trains my hands for battle, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze." Ps. 18:34
God always leaves the choice with us, yet, He sends messages to His people that they often discount. When He sends messages to try to get His people's attention and they do not respond, the messages grow louder, stronger, and they intensify. It is like the anguished cry of a parent trying to get the attention of their child before the child does something to destroy themselves through their own careless disregard. I pray that each person reading this will understand that is God's loving concern for us today. He is pleading with His people to run back to Him and commit to a life of obedience. The reality is, it will easier for some to relinquish their convictions when confronted by evil ultimatums and devilish warfare, than it is to stand up against an enemy. A life of compromise and weakened convictions prepares people to renounce their faith in order to survive in an evil world.
"Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven." Matthew 10:32,33
"If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels." Mark 8:38
"For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? AND IF IT IS WITH DIFFICULTY THAT THE RIGHTEOUS IS SAVED, WHAT WILL BECOME OF THE GODLESS MAN AND THE SINNER? Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right." 1 Peter 4;17-18
Let me ask you, would you like to be let in on the enemy's secrets if he was plotting destruction at a place where your family might be affected? What if God wanted to warn you of a potential massacre at your child's school, or a terrorist plot where you or someone you love work - Would you want to know in advance? Of course you would. That is how crucial our obedience will become in this hour. That is why obedience is critical. (After I wrote this article, I randomly came across this you tube video of a prophetic word given just yesterday, August 18th, 2014. It mentions terrorist plots against 100,000 public schools.) Though I do not know who posted that video, I have a gut feeling it is accurate and from the Lord. We must all be on high alert and PRAY! I will say it again. Gone are the days of comfortable Christianity. Far too many have gone to church to be entertained, instead of to be trained. In the days ahead, nothing will be very comfortable, and the church needs training in spiritual warfare. There are different aspects of warfare training. Some involve listening, some come through impartation of anointing and gifts, some come by trials and demonic warfare. All are necessary components to being trained as a skilled warrior.
Lack of obedience closes our ears to God's voice as well as the ability to receive fresh revelation.
There are churches and other false authority structures that will collapse upon themselves. God is not into building a church inside a box. He is not about to stay within man's imposed limitations, and He doesn't get behind compromised teaching and give His approval. Those that teach false doctrine and formulate messages that appeal to itchy ears that only want the gospel message to sooth or entertain them will not be able to stand in the coming days. Grace without repentance or obedience is not the gospel. This is just one example. Forgive me if truth sounds harsh, but there are many who have been trying to hide the fact that they are operating under a different spirit. BUT, people will sense that they are not being adequately equipped, and they are going to fear that they are in serious need of more training, quickly. Those that cannot or will not prepare people with the teaching and training that they need in order to survive, will be removed and those houses will fall. You know that old saying your grandparents might have had, that they learned to swim when they got thrown into the deep end of the pool? Well, that is what we are facing right now in a lot of people's Christianity. They are going to sink or learn to swim but they are going to find themselves in over their head in the deep end of the pool. That's not even the bad news. The bad news is, they are taking swim lessons in snake infested waters. Some of those snakes are big, powerful, poisonous and have two heads. I've seen it as God has shown it to me. Friends, you are going to have to be alert and learn to dodge those snakes even as you are in deep water. You must be trained in righteousness, trained for good works, and trained in love so that you bear good fruit, but you also need to be trained for war. GOD trains His people for war through OBEDIENCE. Many people have been tested and tested for quite some time, but God has been preparing you for war. This is how we prove that He can trust us with authority, strategy, secrets and an increase in power.
The enemy roams about seeking whom he may devour. He goes to each door, looking for a way in. Each person has a responsibility to get the enemy out, and shut the door. This is one step we take to protect ourselves, our families and our future. If we do not listen to God now, if we refuse His instruction and wisdom when we've had a chance to make a change, should He feel obligated to hear us when we cry out when we're in trouble?
