Prayer to Break Curses and Heal Inuit Ancestry

This morning I awoke from a dream in which someone placed a folder of information in my hands. When I opened it, it was a file from many sources and scholars on the Inuit people. I woke up wondering what this meant and what I was supposed to do, but the way the Lord most frequently works with me is to research something and then write a prayer, so that is why I am writing this particular article and prayer. This was something that was not even on my radar. I did not have any thoughts whatsoever to research this topic, but the Holy Spirit knows who needs this!

In researching the history of Inuit beliefs and practices, one thing I noticed that is common with many of native ancestry is that they tend to syncretize their history and traditions of storytelling along with religious beliefs. Many do believe in Christianity but they may also feel it is a betrayal of their identity should they forsake the customs and traditions of their ancestors. Thus, the two belief systems merge into a combined religious system that incorporates all of these beliefs and practices into a new form of religion. Neither is completely pure or exclusive of one another. This results in polytheism, or the belief of many gods, but scripturally this is considered an offense and idolatrous to the one true God, the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

According to Wikipedia, the Inuit people originated from Artic and subartic regions of Greenland, (Denmark) Canada, and Alaska. Their religion has many forms and variants, but other cultures have traditionally had similar spiritual mediators known as Angakkuq. Angakkuk are trained in the culture, history and language of the Inuit, but they also depend on familiar spirits or spirit guides for their counsel, and are also known as shamans. Shamans play a prominent role in the lives of the Inuit. They act as healers, counselors, and are sought out for their wisdom and knowledge, but the spiritual reality is they practice witchcraft and magic that is banned by God. The myths, legends and folktales of the Inuits (as well as other native tribes) that are passed down from generation to generation involve fear of punishment and other fears, which opens the door to a spirit of fear. These familiar spirits are given legal permission, accessing the lives of each family member that practices these traditions. Inuit live in fear of unknown forces due to the harshness and randomness of life in the Arctic. Many of the Inuit depend on the sea for provision, so many of their legends involve gods & goddesses of water spirits. The stories they tell their children often involve a fear of what will happen if they break certain taboos or get too close to the water. It is only through obedience to custom, avoiding taboos, and performing the right rituals that the spirit of the dead can be placated.The spiritual beliefs are as diverse as the culture.

The Inuit people have long incorporated oral traditions of storytelling which include animism and shamanism; the belief that their spiritual healers have the ability to meditate with spirits and then release healing to individuals. They look for life lessons to impart to others from legends, folklore and storytelling, but the repetition of telling these stories can also give familiar sprits the welcome they are looking for to remain in families. Not to offend, but the truth and reality is that this is a practice of occultism, which can only keep people under the oppression of demonic spirits and a curse. When the source of their wisdom and "healing" is from the demonic realm and not the Holy Spirit, it is channelling demonic spirits, and nothing good can come from that. It actually releases a curse upon those that partake of those activities. Truth is not found in folklore, legends and myths but in the Word of God alone. Myths, stories and legends are void of power and wisdom because they are fabricated by someone's imagination. Truth must be anchored in Someone greater and mightier than all mankind, and be pure and holy. The Bible has proven it's truth to be real over and over again by the many followers of Jesus Christ who have discovered Him to be real, authentic and true to scripture. God is the only true source of wisdom. God's word contains spiritual laws by which all creation must operate, whether they believe in Him or not. For every action we sow, there is a consequence. He is the highest authority so it is His word that matters more than anything else. Legends and myths are not seeking truth, wisdom or guidance from the Holy Spirit, but from familiar spirits that originate from the demonic realm. The word of God counsels us against such practices.

Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God. Leviticus 19:31

I will set my face against anyone who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute themselves by following them, and I will cut them off from their people. Leviticus 20:6

When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn. Isaiah 8:19-20

…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

The penalty for disobedience to God is inheriting a curse. Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 list the penalties for disobedience. Curses are often manifested in different ways. Chronic illnesses, premature deaths, repetitive accidents, and financial problems are some of the common indicators of an unbroken curse. Chronic strife, repeated suicides or thoughts of suicide in the same family, mental torment, depression and insanity, a failure to succeed in life, barrenness or repeated miscarriage are all signs a curse needs to be broken off of a family or an individual. One indication of the generational attack of the enemy (Satan) is the spiritual oppression, depression and sense of hopelessness that leads many to suicide. This, too, can be a spiritually inherited curse that can be broken. No one needs to live with the thoughts of self-destruction and hopelessness. Jesus Christ is our redeemer and rescuer, but he alone is the one true God and must be worshiped as such. It is so important to reject and renounce the mixture of beliefs, customs and traditions of religious syncretism so that people can get healed. The Lord wants us to live free from demonic oppression!

The prayer at the end of this article is constructed as a guide to help break curses and close doors that may have been opened for generations. It is important to renounce the false gods, traditions and rituals that have compromised the purity of the Christian faith because otherwise those other spirits want to remain a person’s lord and master. God created us in His image to have dominion over all the power of the enemy, but when people mix their religious beliefs and practices, it gives away the power and dominion God gave us and puts it in the hands of the enemy that only wants to destroy us. 

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26

“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.” Luke 10:19

For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:14

Our Heavenly Father loves us so much that He wants us to commit to knowing Him and living in the truth. 

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20

What was our Creator's first command?

You shall have no other gods before Me. Genesis 20:3

Jesus said, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.“ Matthew 22:37-38.

It is not disloyalty to one’s family, culture or tribe to decide to worship God the Father, Jesus Christ his Son, and the Holy Spirit in purity, without the mixture of other beliefs and traditions. It is not rejection of one's family, tribe, or community to have a personal relationship with the Lord. God loves all mankind and wants to be in a real, personal relationship with us. It may seem incredulous, but it's true! That is why Jesus came to earth, to be fully human in a form we could understand, but he never sinned like we do. He was also fully divine, because it takes the pure blood of a sinless God to atone for our sin. He took the punishment for the sins of all mankind upon himself, dying in our place, so that we could accept His free gift of salvation and having our sins forgiven. He alone provided the solution for our sin because no sin is allowed in heaven. It is a holy place. Our sin would keep us eternally separated from God our Father because He is holy and cannot be in the presence of sin. But, Jesus Christ, His only Son through a miraculous birth, paid our debt so that all who believed upon Him and invited Him to be their Savior would be reconnected to their Heavenly Father and adopted into the family of God.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

"If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.…" Romans 10:9, 10

"But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. " John 1:12

Children are part of a family. They have a father. This is how we relate to our heavenly Father.

Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. "John 14:23

"And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For if, when we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!…" Romans 5:5-10 

Our heavenly Father would not have written this if it were not true. He did this because He loves us and does not want evil spiris to usurp His place in our lives and become a false father and wicked oppressor. Demons are incapable of love. They are incapable of telling the truth. Their only assignment is to act as a destroyer of people’s lives. These are Jesus’ words:

Jesus said, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. "John 10:10

God made each one of us unique, and he knows the culture, beliefs and traditions involved in each person’s life. He made us to live in community, and He also gave us this scripture.

"And we have this commandment from Him: Whoever loves God must love his brother as well." 1 John 4:21

Loving others is still being involved in the community in which we live. It's not disloyalty to a person's cultural identity, but to recognize that our identity is found in Christ, as we are adopted into the family of God. Our position as God's child is secure. This is His truth. Only a Holy God that loves us and sent His only Son to die on our behalf to cleanse us from our sin has a right to tell us who we are. As we align with what HIs word says about us, we realize that we are made in His image and likeness, and that is who we are.

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground. So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." Genesis 1:26,27

Do you see how we are created to have dominion over all that is in the earth, instead of other spirits having dominion over us? Do you see how that contradicts what is implied through legends and myths? The fictional characters from legends and myths have no right to be gods or goddesses in someone's life. They have no power to deliver, save or heal. They have no power to cleanse a person from the stain of their sin. Only the blood of a Holy God can do that, and it was shed by the only begotten son of God Almighty, Jesus Christ. Our identity is imparted from our heavenly Father just as much as our identity is found in the DNA of our parents. In as much as we inherit certain characteristics in the natural that we received from our parents, so do we also inherit certain qualities and characteristics from our heavenly Father, because once a person invites Jesus into their heart to be their Savior, the DNA of his Holy Spirit floods us with a new reality. We receive HIM and He lives in us. Our identity is directed tied to the Spirit of God living within us!

Our identity does not come solely from the culture we live in. Identity is imparted from a person's parents, their values and sense of affirming a person in who they are as an individual. The Inuit have a long history of being known for their abiity to adapt to change, a strong connection with their community, and a love and commitment to respect the land. It is their heritage and legacy, and an inspiration for others in their ability to overcome adversity. They have had to learn how to adapt to changing times and because of those qualities, they are survivors. The Inuit are a strong, resilient people. Please understand that I mean no disrespect towards anyone. It is not my intent to bash anyone's beliefs. I am simply writing to make a distinction between common beliefs and practices that are contrary to the word of God. When a person is not in agreement with the truth of God's spiritual laws, it opens them up to demonic spirits. All demonic spirits look for ways to inflict harm and carry out curses. That is just the nature of what they do.

  

Have you noticed anyone in your family that seems to have repeated the same pattern as a parent or a grandparent? Do you or anyone in your family have a history of things like addictions, alcoholism, anger, rage or abuse? What about adultery, broken relationships, divorce or controlling behavior? Many of these things repeat from one generation to the next. Who do you think gave you and your family those things? Who placed those curses into the family line?

We can be saved, but people still perish for lack of knowledge. Salvation is not the same as deliverance. The effects of unbroken curses are not a salvation issue. They are a deliverance and sanctification issue. There can still be areas of a person’s life – habits and mindsets that are not yet renewed. We have to appropriate that victory Jesus won for us by cooperating with our own deliverance. Many people may not practice certain customs, beliefs or call on the names of false gods, but still have the effects of unbroken curses active in their life. This is because no one has confessed the sins of their ancestors and asked God to forgive them. Where there is no blood covering, there is no forgiveness of sins. 

God gives each person an ultimatum, and it’s found in Joshua 24:15. Joshua, who was the commander of the people of Israel, said: 

“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Every person has to make a choice whom they will serve. People either serve God, or they serve the world and the ruler of the world. Proverbs 26:2 tells us,

“As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.”

The enemy cannot throw a curse on a person for no reason, so he looks for open doors that we might not understand are there. It becomes our job to pursue God and find out if the enemy sees something about our life that gives him access to us and our family. Jesus became the answer we need to redeem us from the power of the curse!

Here is a deep cleansing prayer that can help break off curses, close doors to the enemy and release a fresh start with the Lord. I pray it blesses you!

Dear Heavenly Father,

I seek Your help, the help that is only available to me through Jesus Christ, the blood of the lamb, and His Holy Spirit. I desperately want to be cleansed from demonic spirits, unbroken curses and familiar spirits that have been a part of my life, through my family members, from even before my birth. I ask You, Jesus Christ, Lord of all, to be my Lord and Savior. I ask You to cleanse me from all unrighteousness and set me free.

I repent for any way that I have knowingly or unknowingly given place to demonic spirits and allowed them to access my life. I renounce the sins of my parents, grandparents, and other ancestors; this day I divorce the enemy, Satan, and all other false gods and religions.

I break every ungodly covenant, oath and vow that may have been spoken by myself or any of my ancestors, knowing that this is forbidden by Your word. Lord Jesus, please let me be released from any ungodly alliances, covenants, or legally binding treaties that were enacted between me, my family, and demonic spirits.

I renounce all shamans, spiritual healers, mediums and familiar spirits, ungodly priests, priestesses, sorcerers and wizards. I command all soul ties with these individuals and spirits called upon to be broken now in the name and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, and I send all soulish connections back to them. I call for any fragmented or disconnected parts of my soul to come back to me now.

Forgive me, Father, for seeking wisdom and knowledge from the forbidden tree of good and evil, and evil practitioners of magic arts. Let every evil seed wither and dry up now and bear no more fruit in Jesus' name.

I renounce and divorce the enemy, Satan, and any evil spirit that may have been called into my life, including:

All tuurngait spirits

The spirit of Aglooglik, evil goddess of the sea

Ahkiyyini, the skeleton spirit.

Akna, mother goddesses of fertility

Amaguq/Amarok, the spirt of the wolf god

Anguta, spirit of the underworld and death

Igaluk,  the moon god

Malina, the sun goddess

Nanook, polar bear spirit

Pinga, the goddess of the hunt, fertility and medicine

Qailertetang, weather spirit, guardian of animals, and matron of fishers and hunters.

Saumen Kar also called Tornit or Tuniit, spirits of giant animals

Sedna, the mistress of sea animals. Also known as Nerrivik, Arnapkapfaaluk, Arnakuagsak, and Nuliajuk and other names.

Silap Inua or Sila, spirit of the air. Also known as the Prince of the power of the air.

I renounce all demonic spirits by any other names. I renounce divination and conjuring of all familiar spirits of the dead and those that me. my ancestors and family members have participated in. I renounce all soul ties to familiar and familial protectors, spirit guides, scribes and messengers, diviners and ungodly priests, false fathers and mothers. 

I renounce all animal and material sacrifices made on my behalf or those in my family line. I renounce all human involvement for the sake of divining information, the use of familiar spirits, spirit guides, and false gods. I renounce all blood that was shed from any source that was tied to my life through the use of occult practices. I renounce all herbalists and root workers that concocted medicines, potions, magic and incantations.

I repent and renounce any participation of myself or those in my family line in the indoctrination, apprenticeship, spiritual journey, rituals or rites of passage of myself or others into occult or forbidden practices.

I renounce all lying, devious, deceptive and manipulative spirits that were inherited as a curse.

I renounce and break any soul ties now to the bondages, mindset, beliefs and emotional pain and bitterness that came through slavery, as a result of injustice, fear and oppression.

I renounce and break all associations with idolatry, familiar spirits, witchcraft and rebellion.

I renounce the spirits of fear, suspicion, rejection, loneliness, inferiority, insecurity, poverty, death and hell that have come into my life. 

I renounce the spirit of abandonment, unloving spirits, guilt and condemnation. Lord Jesus, fill me with Your peace and love.

I renounce and forsake any and all customs, traditions, practices and beliefs that are forbidden by God, so that I may be accepted in your sight. I renounce the belief in reincarnation because the Bible does not teach this. It is a lie.

I lift up myself to You right now. I pray that You would help me embrace whatever memories that I have either blocked out or forgotten, if recalling those memories can be used to release healing. Holy Spirit, please lead me into the truth that will shatter any lies in my belief system so that I can be healed and set free. I ask You, Holy Spirit, to show me anything else that is significant to my life or family. I give You permission to dislodge memories that are stuck. I pray that You highlight any specific memories or situations, objects or possessions that are related to anything that is connected to a curse that you want me to destroy and remove from my home.

I repent for any sin or involvement of myself and my ancestors that opened doors to the occult through witchcraft and occult magic. Let the blood of Jesus cover all these sins and close the door to demonic spirits. 

Thank you, Holy Spirit, for the revelation of my heavenly Father’s love, acceptance and adoption as His child. Help me sense my Father’s heart and His presence in my life. Thank You for forgiveness and cleansing from all unrighteousness. Help me to walk in the truth and be obedient to what You show me. I am grateful for Your mercy and restoration in my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Healing the Family Tree

I saw something in a dream recently that I want to share with you. I believe it gives us all some much needed strategy against the works of the enemy.

What I saw was that the enemy had put a mark on those that he was claiming as his, whether saved or unsaved. The mark was also indicative of those the enemy wanted to curse to keep from coming into their destiny. The mark itself looked like a black raven and it was on the head. I also heard the Lord say, "Pray for healing of the family tree," and as I was praying about all this several things came to mind.

First, the 'bird' reminded me of the scriptures of the birds of the air that come to eat up the good seeds of truth that come from the Word of God. The enemy is snatching up those words because he knows they are full of power to save, heal and deliver those that hear. I asked God to send His angels to clear out the airwaves from those demonic spirits so that they cannot snatch the good seed away from those that are speaking and those that are hearing. The mark is also a word curse that carries judgments, slander and attempts to destroy the opportunities, new doors and good plans of the Lord so that people cannot enter into what is appointed for them. The birds of the air pick up the words laced with death and destruction that negatively influence others, and they take those words from one person to another in the form of gossip and evil speaking. These things are intended to keep people from salvation, keep them from their deliverance, and also prevent them from entering into the new day God has intended for them. He needs our cooperation to pray His plans into the earth, and He gives us prayer strategies to insure that His plans will be carried out. 

Secondly, I asked God to give people everywhere the desire to be cleansed from generational sin so that their family tree can be healed. I think that we often do not realize the impact of even one person's sin that can affect others in the generational line. Let me give you an example. Have you ever seen a child born into a family and maybe this child doesn't look anything like the other kids or family members. Maybe they have a different color hair or features that seem very different from everyone else. Then you pull out the old family picture album and find a picture of great aunt Sally or great, great grandfather so-and-so and you think, "Oh, so this is where those genes came from!" Something in the gene pool from way, way back got carried forward and was reproduced. Well, that is exactly how things get pulled out of the spiritual gene pool also, but sometimes it can be like a dead man's pool. A spiritual gene pool, if I may use that illustration, can have both good and bad. If a person is saved, then there are gifts, talents, callings, mantles and spiritual inheritances that can be a tremendous blessing because they come from God. But, there are also things that can come out that has poverty, death and destruction attached to them. Those things come from the enemy. We want to break the curses that travel in family lines. It's like playing Russian Roulette with our spiritual health and future because we just don't know what other people in the generational line opened a door to. There can still be open doors to the enemy that they never took care of, even in the most dedicated Christian families. Sometimes people just don't realize they need to take care of something or don't have the revelation of it, but each year we should recover more spiritual truth and walk in a greater understanding than we have in the past. Demonic spirits look for legal loopholes to entitle them to rob, steal and destroy your family's blessings. They feel entitled to hang around and will wait for an opportune time to rebirth generational sin and iniquitous patterns. They don't just go away. We have to send them away through prayers of renouncement and genuine repentance which results in changed behavior. This is why we should take great care to heal our family tree as soon as we are blessed with this understanding.

This is not just about our personal family tree, but the family tree that represents God's entire family. His desire is for each one of our family trees to become a tree of life. When the spiritual roots are healed, the family tree can become a tree of life that releases healing to others, also, because you then have the knowledge of how to help others heal their family trees. Revelation becomes widespread and affects more than just your generation! I also prayed and asked that the Lord would heal the root system of people's family tree so that those trees would be trees of healing that bear good fruit. The healing and cleansing come from renouncing generational sin and unhealthy learned patterns that are passed down from one family member to another. People cannot hope to overcome their flesh if there is demonic attachments that they cannot see. It will remain there to trip people up, time after time, reproducing and re-birthing the same patterns of behavior that cause people to experience loss, poverty, sorrow, broken relationships, addictions, divorce, mental illness and much more. This is how the enemy perpetuates certain weaknesses of sin that run in family lines. Generational curses can come to an end and a new destiny for entire families is possible. Sometimes we don't know what to ask for, but I believe God gave a strategy through the dream. There is not one family on earth that is cannot benefit of a more intimate walk with God, healing for their family, and deeper revelation. Lord, help us not to think that we are 'good enough' as we are, but to seek You for continued growth! When relationships are fractured there will always be differences of opinion. Many times those differences of opinion lead to stubborness and attitudes of self-righteousness that become stumbling blocks to healing and restoring the relationship. Judgments, pride and other things become elevated above love and humility, which are needed to be able to make reconciliation a possibility. God wants us to lay down our judgments, criticisms and religious attitudes that look down on others as if they are unworthy of grace and restoration. If relationships are to be healed, and if Christ be our head, then we must find it within ourselves to surrender to His will, and His will requires humility on everyone's part. He levels the ground and puts us all on equal footing, secure in the knowledge that we are all just sinners saved by a loving God. None better, none worse than anyone else. All sin requires forgiveness, and a Savior.

I also saw that many people feel like they are stuck or waiting but they don't know why. God has called a divine delay in some people's circumstances because there is something specific He wants them to pray before they can be released into His greater purposes. God wants to plant good trees and reap good fruit. A good tree does not produce bad fruit because the seed comes from Christ. It's time we cleanse the remnants of death, decay and corruption from the spiritual gene pool. Religion has corruption and death attached to it. Scripture tells us the letter of the law releases death but the Spirit is life, according to 2 Cor. 3:6. God does not want to birth more religion; He wants to birth a tree of life. Bitterness, selfish ambition, envy and other things also have death and corruption attached to them. Study the scriptures and you will see. These are all things that God wants to cleanse from us so that when the birth of the promise comes, it is all Him. The promise should speak of the supernatural. It should look like God and represent Him in every way, not our flesh. We must cooperate in our own healing and deliverance so that we are ready for the next new thing God has planned. Sometimes doors won't open until all things have been made ready. Will you make yourself ready? I also saw that when I prayed what God told me concerning the healing of family trees, that spiritual births would come quickly and without delay. So many people are much closer to their breakthrough than they realize. If you have been asking God what is taking so long, perhaps there is something specific you need to pray. When you pray what God has asked, the birth will occur. God wants a pure birth, a birth that is full of power, anointing and can move with Him in the Spirit. Ask Him for a prayer strategy specific for you and your situation. When we pray, the delay is moved out of the way!

Father God,

In the name and authority of Jesus Christ I come to you and ask that you give people everywhere the desire to heal their family tree. Give them a heart to search for the right answers and faith to take the appropriate actions that make that possible. Let family trees be healed, in Jesus name. Let the family tree that represents the family of God be healed as well.

Let eyes blinded by pride, prejudice, offense and accusation be opened now in Jesus name, to see beyond those barriers. Let correct spiritual vision be restored to them now. Let ears that have been closed to truth be opened now, in Jesus name. 

Let your angels be released to anoint the ears to hear what Your Spirit is saying. Let hearts be softened and anointed to receive the truth. I declare and decree there shall be no rejection of spiritual truth but people will know it is the truth and submit and surrender to the truth. I ask for the Spirit of Understanding and the Spirit of Truth to reveal that which will make people free, in Jesus name. Let the good seed fall on good ground and let there be no delay in the seed bearing fruit.

Father, let what has been broken through hurt, betrayal, anger, offense, jealousy and divorce be healed. Take those relationships that have been divorced from one another and make them whole again. Whether it be family members, children or church members, heal and restore that which has been wounded and broken. Pour in Your love, grace, forgiveness and mercy. Pour a new foundation and restore the bonds of loyalty, trust and respect in Jesus name.

Lord, heal us from our harshness and prejudices. Heal us from self righteous convictions that are not from you but tend to keep us from fully accepting and being able to love others. Help us to let go of pride and other attitudes that makes us feel that others are not worthy of our acceptance, loyalty or commitment to love. 

Lord, heal our memories. The enemy would try to rob us from the good memories and leave us remembering only the offenses. Restore to us the happy memories that give people a desire to see relationships healed.

Let anyone that feels stubborn or resistant to healing have a sudden change of heart. Give them a willing desire to reconcile the relationships YOU want healed and restored. Let all stumbling blocks be supernaturally removed now, in Jesus name.

Take what was once broken and heal those fractured areas. Cement hearts together in covenant bonds that cannot be broken. Let Your Holy Spirit be the threefold cord binding hearts and lives together that are by the appointment and design of God, in Jesus name.

I declare and decree that the birds of the air, all demonic lying spirits, thieving spirits, and those that come to block the ears of those who hear, must be removed immediately. Let Your angels come and gather those ungodly spirits, chain them and send them back to the abyss that was created for them. I bind them from any and all interference in the salvation and deliverance of those marked for the kingdom of God in Jesus name.

I declare and decree in the mighty name of Jesus Christ that the mark the enemy has placed upon the heads of your children must be supernaturally removed now. Let Your angels be released to remove those marks. Let every word curse be cancelled and those words of death be condemned according to Your promise in Isaiah 54:17. Let every judgment be removed and let truth prevail, in Jesus name. I ask You to send out Your words and let Your angels carry the words of heaven to speak over those that have been targeted for destruction. Let their true identity as sons and daughters of the Most High be spoken about them. Let all lying cease according to your promise in Ps. 63:11, and the mouths of liars be silenced in Jesus name.

I thank You Father for hearing my prayer declaration and sending out help from the sanctuaries of heaven and earth. May Your servants prosper in all that you have put in their hand to do, and may the family trees be healed according to Your desire, in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Breakthrough Prayer (Breaking Generational Curses & Cycles of Loss)

The following prayer is extensive but it works! Although Jesus received the full wrath of God on our behalf when He was crucified, and though He took the curse upon Himself, many Christians do not automatically live a victorious life, and they don't understand why. I have known many Christians, myself included, that dealt with unseen things that always seemed like one step forward, two steps back. Although I was saved and loving and serving God to the best of my ability, there were definitely some things I knew were like old cycles that kept repeating in my life. I had no explanation for any of it at the time. So, what hinders a God-loving Christian from victory? Did Jesus really set us free from the law and the curse?

Yes! Jesus received the full wrath of God on our behalf when He was crucified. Though He took the curse upon Himself many Christians do not automatically live a victorious life, but they don't understand why. Jesus made everything available to us. Every promise is ours through faith. The evidence of our faith is obedience to God’s word. John 10:10 tells us, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.” The enemy is a liar, murderer, a thief and a rule-breaker.  Satan is a career criminal. That’s his job. A career criminal is not going to abide by the rules or obey the law UNLESS someone ENFORCES the law. That is our job! If you think the enemy cannot rob, steal or mess with your life simply because you are under a new covenant of grace, you are quite mistaken. Salvation is not the same as deliverance. The effects of unbroken curses are not a salvation issue. They are a deliverance and sanctification issue. 

There can still be areas of our life - habits and mindsets that are not yet renewed, and perhaps open doors to the enemy that we have a hard time figuring out. We have to appropriate that victory Jesus won for us by cooperating with our own deliverance. If I want my sins forgiven, I cannot retain unforgiveness and bitterness. Yes, grace is available, but if I reject that grace and make excuses to act in accordance with my own desires instead of God’s will, I find myself outside of God’s covenant through my disobedience. If I attempt to prove my own righteousness apart from the righteousness Christ has provided for me, I am outside of covenant. If I want the promise of blessing, I need to make sure I am following the spiritual principles outlined in God’s word so that I can receive the fullness of His blessing. Whatever I sow, I will reap in like kind. If I want to extract something out of the kingdom of God, I must secure that blessing through right responses to God. What seeds am I planting? What am I sowing? There is an equal responsibility of obedience, faith and action required in order to demonstrate faith and reap the benefits of God’s promises. The just shall live by faith.

It is not my intention in any way to bring people back under the condemnation of the law. Teaching on this subject is intended to be used as a means of learning from the entirety of God’s word, and how a lack of faith, ignorance of God’s word and misunderstanding of truth can cause people to suffer and struggle. It is far too much teaching to put in one article. Jesus Christ paid the price to make it possible for all mankind to live in freedom, health and victory- in as much as they are willing to appropriate that victory and live inside of covenant with God. When we step outside of covenant, we are in disobedience and open doors to the enemy to bring in a curse. God did not throw out obedience simply because we are under grace. I am so grateful for God’s grace and mercy, but we cannot afford to have a false sense of security in thinking that it becomes a substitute for our obedience. We must endeavor to fulfill our part of this covenant relationship.

Sometimes people get so accustomed to seeing the problems that they can no longer see the blessings or correctly discern what God has said about them and their future, and so they actually give the enemy a place to work in their life through unbelief and negative words. We need to stop agreeing with the enemy and put our voice and confession back in right alignment with faith and the word of God. That is why this prayer is effective; it helps remove those blind spots! There are things we can do to actively work with God in order to get free and this is one of them. Some people question the necessity of this sort of prayers because of being under the covenant of grace. My question to you is, "How victorious do you want to be?"  If a person is desperate enough to want and need a breakthrough, they are usually willing to get out of their religious box and do just about anything. We each need to cooperate with God in active participation of our own deliverance. Titus 2:11 tells us this: "For the grace of God (his unmerited favor and blessing) has come forth (appeared) for the deliverance from sin and the eternal salvation for all mankind. (vs 12) It has trained us to reject and renounce all ungodliness (irreligion) and worldly (passionate) desires, to live discreet (temperate, self controlled) upright, devout, (spiritually whole) lives in this present age..." And, as if these reasons are not good enough, let's not forget that there are times when we may have re-opened old doors, giving the enemy access through our own actions. Sometimes there are others that wish us harm and speak curses over us. Words have power, and sometimes those words spoken by others need to be broken off of us so that words laced with curses do not hang over us in the spirit realm and hinder our progress. There are a number of things each person deals with in life and God has a myriad of ways of releasing His healing.

It's important to realize that God's servants often have "specialty areas" where they have had such a profound revelation or personal experience with God on a topic and that becomes a key aspect of their life message. To some, it may be the revelation of the Father's heart of love; for others, it may be the message of grace, deliverance, or holiness. But God has many dimensions of His character. To preach one without the other becomes unbalanced and can be dangerous. God is a God of justice just as much as a God of mercy and grace. He is a loving, protecting Father as much as He is a man of war. He is the good shepherd of the sheep as much as He is the deliverer and demon slayer. Doctrine must be balanced if it is to be effective. Each message has it's time and place in how it applies in an individual's life to release healing and wholeness. This sort of prayer is just one component that God may use for your peace, healing, wholeness and blessing. We do not build an entire doctrine around it, it is simply one of His tools. Please understand it is not our wish for anyone to be overly sin conscious and fearful; we should be JESUS conscious and focus on His righteousness working in and through us. With that said, there are prayers of renouncement that are quite effective at getting the ball rolling in the right direction and releasing restoration.  I hope that if you have found this prayer you are at a place in your life where you are not not bothered by being thorough. This prayer came as a result of a long journey of stretching, stripping and deep cleansing. We know from personal experience this prayer is effective, and the many testimonies from others that it has helped. I pray and believe that each person that puts this prayer into practice will experience a divine shift out of the old and  into the new. May you be blessed with every good thing God has waiting for you!!

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to You on behalf of myself and all those in my ancestral line that came before me. I ask for Your forgiveness for our sins, and I acknowledge that many of us never asked for Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Savior. Many of us committed sins and trespasses in rebellion to Your ways.

Father, I also come to you as a citizen of the United States, and I ask You to forgive the sins of our forefathers. I ask You to forgive the sins of those that pioneered and settled this land, and the pagan practices, cultures and traditions brought in from foreign lands. Forgive, I pray, our presidential and political leaders that broke treaties and treacherously removed the boundary lines of Native Americans and others to claim them as their own.

Forgive all those in my family line as well as those who founded our nation and settled the land for making slaves of other races and nationalities; for causing others to feel overcome with jealousy, fear, anger and desire vengeance against those who treated them wrongfully.

Forgive us for the grief we caused, the injustices and the bloodshed. Forgive us for broken covenants, vows and agreements and for the curses that came as a result of those actions. Although I may not have personally taken part in these sins, I understand that there is a need to recognize the sins of those that came before us and I ask for the blood of Jesus to atone for these things so that we may be cleansed of all these unrighteous acts. Please allow all those that have been affected by this generational root of bitterness, grief and poverty now find the grace to forgive, even generations of mistreatment and injustices.

Father, You said that if I would humble myself, pray and seek Your face...If I would turn and repent from my wicked ways, You said You would forgive my sins. Whether other family members or myself have partaken of these sins knowingly or unknowingly, I ask Your forgiveness and I renounce:

All spirits of fear, the fear of man that brings a snare, self- pity, insecurity, and inferiority. Forgive me for the need to control or manipulate others out of a sense of fear, insecurity or inferiority. Forgive me for not trusting in your provision or your timing, and for failing to rest in Your love. Father, I thank you that Your perfect love casts out all fear according to 1 John 4:18. I come out of agreement with the spirit of fear and command it to leave me now, in the name and authority of Jesus Christ. Let the curse of fear and anxiety be broken now in Jesus name.

I renounce bitterness, jealousy, strife, anger, hatred, profanity, gossip, lying, slander and murder with the mouth. I repent for holding on to bitterness that comes from being hurt,  mistreated or injustice that has occurred towards myself or others in my family. I renounce the spirit of Cain, which is a murderous spirit. I come out of agreement with these spirits and repent for my judgments against others. I command bitterness, jealousy, strife, anger, hatred, profanity, gossip, lying, slander and rage to leave me now in the name and authority of Jesus Christ. I willingly forgive all those that have hurt and offended me, from my heart. Let all curses of rejection, wandering and instability be broken now in Jesus name.

Forgive me and those in my family for any sins of hard heartedness, being critical or condemning, or showing lack of compassion towards others in their time of need. Forgive me and those in my family for turning a blind eye towards those in need and withholding good when it was in our power to help. Father, please let the hardness of my heart be changed. Let Your compassion fill my heart. Let the curse of greed that produces poverty be broken now in Jesus name.

I renounce the sin of abortion which is premeditated murder. Father, forgive me and anyone in my family for shedding innocent blood. Please let the spirit of abortion be broken off of my life. Let the blood of Jesus cover this sin and close the door to the curse in Jesus name.

I renounce all spirits of heaviness that bring depression, mental illness, obsessive compulsive disorders, schizophrenia, suicide, bi-polar disease and grief. I renounce the spirits of insanity, unbelief, double-mindedness, the cares of this world and all things that would give me give me divided loyalties in my heart and mind towards God. I renounce every seed that Satan has sown into my heart and mind that would cause divided loyalties and weaken my convictions towards Jesus Christ. I come out of agreement with the spirits of insanity, unbelief and doublemindedness and I command them to leave me now, in the name and authority of Jesus Christ. Let the curse of unbelief and double-mindedness be broken now in Jesus name.

I renounce all compulsive behavior and all addictions rooted in fear, rejection, or anxiety. I come out of agreement with spirits of compulsion, fear, rejection and anxiety. I command them to leave me now in the name and authority of Jesus Christ. Let the curse of all mental illness be broken now in Jesus name.

I renounce and forsake unforgiveness, including unforgiveness towards myself, retaliation, and vengeance. Forgive me, Lord, for any time that me or my family members have sown seeds of discord or caused pain to others. I repent for sins of judging or rejecting others, withholding love, acceptance or forgiveness. Forgive me for failing to show love, mercy, grace or compassion. Let the judgments I have spoken about others bear no more fruit in my life or theirs. Let the power of negative words I have spoken be broken now and I ask you to please release me from reaping judgment into my own life, in Jesus name.

I renounce and forsake spirits of self-hatred, self-rejection, unloving spirits, guilt, condemnation and shame. Father I thank you for your forgiveness. Your word says there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. I come out of agreement with the spirits of self-hatred, self-rejection, unloving spirits, guilt, condemnation and shame, and command them to leave me now. Let all shame and condemnation be broken off my life now in Jesus name.   

I renounce and forsake spirits of rejection and abandonment, all lying spirits and command them to leave me at once. I thank you Father that I am not rejected; I am accepted in the Beloved. I come out of agreement with spirits of rejection and abandonment and command them to leave me in the name and authority of Jesus Christ. Your word says You will never leave me or forsake me. I am loved and accepted according to Your word in Ephesians 1:6. Let the curse of abandonment be broken now in Jesus name.

I renounce and forsake all soul ties to illegitimate spiritual fathers or spiritual leaders, religious attitudes, and spirits of legalism, disrespect, self-righteousness, pride, , pretense, hypocrisy, masquerade, prejudice, controlling behaviors, manipulation, imposing my will on others, racism, disobedience, independence, critical spirits, arrogance, vain and judgmental attitudes. I come out of agreement with religious witchcraft, hypocrisy, pride, pretense, masquerade, control, guilt, manipulation and self-righteousness and I command them to leave me now, in the name and authority of Jesus Christ. Let the curse associated with these spirits be broken now in Jesus name.

Forgive me for not being able to separate the sin of those that have hurt me from them as human beings that have also been hurt and used by the enemy to hurt others. Forgive me for rebellion to authority and the times when I have not honored nor shown respect to those in authority, parents, spouses or others. Forgive me for not humbling myself or apologizing when I should have done so. I come out of agreement with the lies and the spirit of rebellion, insubordination and pride, and I command them to leave me now. Let every curse associated with these spirits be broken now in Jesus name.

I renounce and repent for all broken covenants, unfulfilled vows and promises, betrayal and divorce. I ask you to forgive me for any way that my actions may have provoked jealousy or pain in others. I pray that You heal any wounds in others that I may have caused. Let the curse of  miscarriage, fertility problems, jealousy, and broken relationships be broken now in Jesus name.

I ask You to forgive me for making agreements with the wrong people. Please disentangle me and release me from ungodly covenants, vows, and unrighteous agreements.  I ask You to break me free from agreements and relationships where I am yoked with things of the kingdom of darkness, evil and wrong relationships, in Jesus name.

I repent of all sexual sins. I renounce and divorce all  spirits of lust, covetousness and witchcraft. I renounce and forsake all soul ties to former lovers, and any soul ties that were formed through trauma, pain, shame, abuse, deep disappointment and broken vows. Let the fragmented pieces of those people’s soul return to them, and let the fragmented pieces of my soul return to me. Please heal the fragmentation in my soul and spirit. I renounce the perverse spirit. I renounce and forsake incubus and succubus spirits, ungodly fantasies, spirits of voyeurism, perverse sexual practices and homosexuality. I ask You, Holy Spirit, to purify my eye gate, my senses and desires. Help me be diligent to guard these places of my heart and mind so that the enemy cannot use these things as a temptation to ensnare me. I come out of agreement with these spirits and command them to leave me now, in the name and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ. I ask You, Holy Spirit, to help me come back to my senses. I thank You, Father, that you have created me to be holy and blameless according to Ephesians 1:4. Let every curse associated with these things be broken now in Jesus name.

I renounce and forsake all false gods, masters and all evil inheritances that have come through family line. I renounce African religions, the false practices and traditions of other religions and their saints, patrons and patronesses and spirit guides.  I renounce and repent, on behalf of myself and my ancestors for any covenants or agreements made with the seven African spirits known as Papa Legba, Obtala, Oya, Oshun, Chango, Ogun and Yemmaya. I declare there is no other God except for Jesus Christ and I break any connections or agreements that have been made through candle burning, calling on the names of false gods or saints, and invoking their assistance. I come out of agreement with these familiar spirits and I divorce all gods and masters of various names. I command them to leave me now in the name and authority of Jesus Christ. Let every curse associated with these things be broken now in Jesus name.

I renounce the demonic spirits of hoodoo, voodoo, Satanism, and all spirits of witchcraft and magic in the name of Jesus Christ. I renounce the god of the graveyard, Baron Samedi, and the loa Maman Bridgitte, and all gods, amulets and practices of Haitian voodoo. I renounce all witchcraft practices of juju. I come out of agreement with any covenants and invitations of these spirits made by myself or my ancestors and I command them to leave me now in the name and authority of Jesus Christ. Let every curse associated with these spirits be broken now in Jesus name.

I renounce and repent for any involvement with secret societies and the ungodly covenants they demand. (If you know which ones are involved in your family history, name them).I renounce and forsake all pledges, oaths and involvement with Freemasonry, lodges, societies or crafts by my ancestors and myself. I renounce and forsake all false gods, false doctrines, unholy communion and abominations. I renounce and forsake the Luciferian doctrine; I renounce and forsake the oaths spoken to pledge loyalties to man or idol that violated the commands of God and conscience. I renounce all false masters associated with Freemasons, Shriners, Mormonism, Paganism, the Klu Klux Klan and other lodges and secret societies. I renounce and forsake the false god Allah. I renounce and forsake all words and phrases used as secret codes and I break agreement with all curses that were once agreed to be placed upon any and all family members, including myself and future generations. I come out of agreement with these covenants and evil spirits, and command them to leave me now in the name and authority of Jesus Christ. Let every curse associated with these abominations be broken now in Jesus name.

I renounce all lies and false teaching that blinds me to truth and mocks and resists God. I renounce all ungodly symbols that connect me to false teaching, false gods, ungodly alliances and pagan symbolism. I accept and receive no inheritance from evil sources, only that which my heavenly Father permits and allows. Let all evil inheritances be broken off of me and my family. Father, forgive me and my ancestors for resisting truth and resisting Your authority. Holy Spirit, I ask you to forgive me for grieving You and mocking the things of God. I renounce the spirits of mocking, scoffing, the deaf and dumb spirit, the spirit of blindness and all mind blinding spirits. I renounce the anti-Christ spirit and the spirit of pride. Let the power of Leviathan be broken off of my life. I come out of agreement with these spirits and command them to leave me now in the name and authority of Jesus Christ. Let every curse associated with these sins be broken now in Jesus name.

Lord, let there be a release of every curse that has come against me or my generational line as a result of these things. I decree a cancellation of every form of witchcraft and curse that has resulted from my involvement or that of my generational line. I ask You, Lord Jesus, to come and deliver me and my family from all demonic spirits that have come as a result of a curse. I ask that You restore all the years that the enemy has stolen according to your promise in Joel 2:25,26. Let the blessings that have been held back, stolen and hidden by the enemy be released into my hands now, in Jesus name. Let all demonic attachments be severed from me and my family line, both in the heavenly places as well as in the earthly realm. I declare that every seed that was sown by Satan in order to perpetuate a curse or cause myself or someone else in my family line to reject my heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit must now shrivel and die immediately. Jesus, I give You permission to change what You know needs to change in my life and to convict me if I resist your Holy Spirit.

Father, I repent for these sins on behalf of me and my family to the tenth generation back. I thank You for Your forgiveness and cleansing of these sins. I declare that when I am tested, the Spirit of God will arise within me and bring me into a place of victory. I give You permission in advance of any situation I may encounter that You and Your Holy Spirit may change my actions, words and responses so that I honor You. Please reign and rule over my emotions.

Enemy, according to the scripture in James 4:7, as I am now submitted to God, you must flee from me. I command you to take everything that you have put on me, everything that you have tormented me with, every sickness and GO! I command you to pay restitution at no less than a 7-fold return, according to Proverbs 6:31 in every place that you have brought poverty, defeat, robbery, or death and destruction.

Today I declare that the enemy is defeated where I am concerned. You are my Master, my Lord and my Savior. Please come with Your Holy Spirit and heal my mind, my emotions, my thoughts, my confession and my memories. Please heal my trust issues with you and others. Please heal the issues related to my past, my present and my future. Heal my hope, my faith and my love. Heal any areas of grief, heaviness, unbelief, and let the renewed mind of Christ be strengthened and formed in me each and every day. Thank You for releasing into me a spirit of Faith, a spirit of Obedience, the spirit of Adoption, the spirit of Revelation and Truth. Now tell me Lord, what I need to do as an act of faith that will release my breakthrough. Confirm it and convict me that I will not neglect to do whatever You tell me to do. Thank You for eternal life, health, and victory, and for restoring my life and my future, in Jesus' precious name, Amen.
