An octopus has very long arms that signify a long reach, and many suction cups on the underneath of their arms to help them stay attached to whatever they are after. When an octopus wraps itself around an object, it can be so tightly attached that it is virtually impossible to pry it off. Spiritually speaking, when a demonic entity like this is attached to someone, it can seem virtually impossible to be able to reach the person affected. This is because it is a mind blinding spirit. The enemy holds people in such a tight grip that it's against their will; it's forced upon them. Satan uses this force as mind control to cause spiritual blindness and control his victims. Fear is also a huge weapon from the enemy to cause mind control. Fear of man is probably another issue you should address.
It is especially important to note that if there are people in the family that have had involvement with the occult, secret societies or made any ungodly oaths or covenants. Those need to be broken by prayers of renouncement. The enemy looks for open doors to work through, and it's our job to be very thorough so that we don't allow him entrance into our lives. More importantly, is to make sure we don't allow the enemy access to our children's lives through our ignorance of how he works. We don't want our kids and grand kids to go through life with unbroken curses hanging over their heads, so be spiritually responsible. Do your homework. If it seems too overwhelming to do all of it at once, take it in chunks. Read through it and highlight some of the areas that pertain to occult involvement and secret societies and do them first, then take another chunk the next day and so on until you work through it. Believe me, it is a powerful and effective prayer and it does get results!
