Today I would like to share a word of encouragement from Psalm 8, out of The Passion Translation. First, let me include the scripture in verses 1&2.
1 Yahweh, our Sovereign God,
your glory streams from the heavens above,
filling the earth with the majesty of your name!
People everywhere see your splendor.
2 You have built a stronghold by the songs of children.
Strength rises up with the chorus of infants.
This kind of praise has power to shut Satan’s mouth.
Childlike worship will silence[b]
the madness of those who oppose you.
The thing that stood out to me is that Jesus told us in Matthew 19:14 that he wanted the little children to come to Him, and everyone was encouraged to come to Him with childlike faith. In fact, children and babies were considered the weakest members of humanity, but also the most innocent.
The blood of Jesus erases the stain of sin. It completely eradicates the memory of our past and cleanses us from ALL unrighteousness. (See 1 John 1:9)
Psalm 23 says this:
1 Yahweh is my best friend and my shepherd.[a]
I always have more than enough.[b]
2 He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love.[c]
His tracks take me to an oasis of peace near the quiet brook of bliss.[d]
3 That’s where he restores and revives my life.[e]
He opens before me the right path
and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness[f]
so that I can bring honor to his name.
The love of the Lord and the power of His blood restores our soul. He actually RESTORES our innocence, just like a little child. I love what Psalm 8:2 says about PRAISE building a stronghold of the Lord. This blesses His heart and allows our faith to blossom into a renewed sense of strength. This kind of praise has power to silence the enemy. It has the power to silence the madness of those that stand in opposition to you!
You have been set free from guilt, condemnation, shame and reproach. God has restored you to a state of innocence before Him! Praise Him from the purity of your heart and enter into the stronghold of the Lord, where you receive fresh strength. Your victory is released through your praise! Hallelujah!
