Decree to Overturn the New World Order

"Then the king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before the Lord, to follow the Lord and keep His commandments, testimonies and statues, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people took a stand for the covenant." 2 Kings 23:3




Do you ever wonder why it's so hard to break through in prayer? Why it's so difficult to deliver truth to loved ones or recover your family out of the hand of the evil one? The world is under the influence of the prince of the power of the air. There are demonic principalities, powers and thrones in the 'airwaves' or the unseen realm that are established to resist the prayers of the righteous so that evil agendas can continue. So, what's the answer? Prayer, of course. Strategic prayer that is targeted to hit the enemy where it hurts is called for, in order to overthrow those ungodly thrones where evil rules and mocks God's people.

What overthrows ungodly rulers? Prayer decrees.
What releases others to 'hear  from God?' Love.
What establishes Christ as Lord over all? Worship.

When we praise God, we establish a throne for Him to reign and rule and establish justice and judgment over evil forces. 


The is no ignoring the fact that the enemy has a strategic plan to make slaves of anyone that does not resist him. He has a plan to take our families into captivity. Daily we can turn on the news and see evidence of all the ways the enemy is getting more and more bold. So what shall we do? Confront the prevailing forces set against us. My newest decree launches air strikes against the prince of the power of the air and his ungodly thrones so that we can break through with our prayers on the ground level, too.Our decrees "poke holes" in the shadow of death so that light and truth can open up the heavens and allow our prayers to get through. 

The enemy has an agenda to fulfill - an agenda not in favor of American citizens. All of this is part of the government's plan to implement a new world order, and they aren't being shy about saying so. These are not made up fantasies based on a minority few dealing with paranoia. Watch Glenn Beck. Watch the news. Look at how the government, Monsanto and the pharmaceutical companies are all in bed together. There is a bigger agenda behind a great deal of what's going on, and it's about who will control the population. It's happening at an alarming rate. I thought I would put together a bit of history for those that may not understand what this is about. (Aside from the obvious, which is to make modern day slaves of all people!). As much as we do not like to think that our own government would act contrary to our best interests, most people are no longer asleep to the truth. Little by little we see the government making decisions that don't seem to uphold our constitutional rights and higher officials using their authority to do as they please. They avoid accountability. That is dangerous government, because left unchecked, it will eventually deprive us all of our God-given rights. 

In the book of Esther, when an evil person in high authority wrote a decree to annihilate the Jews, Esther discovered the plot and brought it before the king. The king was outraged and told Esther to use her royal authority to write a new decree that would change the outcome of the enemy's intention. This is what King Ahasuerus said to Queen Esther: "You yourselves write a decree concerning the Jews, as you please, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's signet ring; for whatever is written in the king's name and sealed with the king's signet ring no one can revoke." (Esther 8:8). Dear ones, you are God's royalty and we each have the ability to write a new decree concerning the destiny of our family, our cities and our nation. YOU HAVE THE SEAL OF AUTHORITY IN THE KING'S NAME. USE THE AUTHORITY CHRIST HAS ENTRUSTED YOU WITH!

I pray for the faithful prayer warriors to come along side with prayers of agreement, that we may see a return of Godly order in every household, in our government and throughout our nation. Here is a background of history and how it fits together with the decree at the bottom of the page.

History, part 1.

On the back of the Great Seal of the United States is “The Eye of Providence” which in Latin are the words “Annuit Coeptis.” If you don’t know the origin, you might be apt to take the reference to it’s so called meaning, “He favors our undertakings,” as a reference to God. However, the person that chose these words and motto for our nation wasn’t referring to the Father of Jesus Christ. He was not referring to the Creator and author of salvation. He was NOT referring to Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit. He was referring to an entirely different god.

In 1782, Congress appointed a design artist by the name of William Barton to bring a proposal for the seal of the nation. He chose the 13 layered pyramid underneath the “Eye of Providence.” The mottos which Barton chose to accompany the design were “Deo Favente” which means ‘with god’s favor.’ The problem is, Barton did not choose our God. It’s a carefully hidden deception of the enemy. For Barton, “Deus” and the “Eye of Providence” were the same entity.

The word "Deus," through "Dei," is the root of deism, pandeism, panendeism, and polydeism, ironically all of which are theories in which any divine figure is absent from intervening in human affairs. This curious circumstance originates from the use of the word "deism" in the 17th and 18th centuries as a contrast to the prevailing "theism", belief in an actively intervening God:

The new religion of reason would be known as Deism. It had no time for the imaginative disciplines of mysticism and mythology. It turned its back on the myth of revelation and on such traditional "mysteries" as the Trinity, which had for so long held people in the thrall of superstition. Instead it declared allegiance to the impersonal "Deus".[1] ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deus ) Deism rejects the idea of prophecy and miracles in favor of referencing God as The Supreme Architect of the world. Several of the Founding Fathers were deists and were heavily influenced by enlightenment philosophies. It is also very similar to what the Masonics refer to as their god, “The Great Architect of the Universe.”

The “Eye of Providence” is usually associated with Freemasonry. The eye first appeared as the standard iconography of the Freemasons in 1797. Here it represents the all seeing eye of God and is a reminder that a mason’s thoughts and deeds are always observed by God, although the god of the Mason’s is the Great Architect of the Universe. Some theories claim that the eye atop the pyramid on the Great Seal of the United States indicates the influence of Freemasonry in the founding of the United States.

Satan does not have to be openly worshipped to claim the souls of men. All he has to do is blind them to truth so that they do not worship Jesus Christ. If man does not have God, he does not have salvation. 1 John 5: 10-12

Annuit coeptis and the other motto on the reverse of the Great Seal, novus ordo seclorum are both traced back to the Roman poet Virgil. It comes from the book Aeneid and references a prayer by the hero of the story Aeneus, which translates to “Jupiter Almighty, favor my bold undertakings.” These are bold declarations to exalt a different god over America; Satan, who hides himself behind many other names and faces. Any time someone makes a declaration proclaiming a different god over our nation's people, it is an attempt to take people captive and make them subject to that god. We cannot afford to silently acquiesce without protest or we will pay the price for our silence! 

History, part 2.

 Aleister Crowley, the well known Satanist, lived during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. His influence was far reaching in both the occult world as well as the secular world. His influence infiltrated the movie industry, political realm, religious leaders and more. His life work drew on ancient mysticism, influences from various countries, their gods, belief systems, rituals, traditions, spirit guides, magic and more. All of these things were incorporated into Crowley’s teachings, and his disciples were many. Crowley died in 1947 but even today he is still revered by many Satanists and known as a great prophet, teacher, mentor and illusionist (magician).  Aleister Crowley used magic that incorporated the mind, will, emotions and intent of the prayer, hex, curse or incantation that was spoken. He studied and practiced alchemy and experimented with many drugs, incorporating it into his philosophies, as well occult teachings. For him, there were no limits in his practice of magic. He took everything he knew to the extreme, to make all of his demonic magic as potent and as powerful as possible. He called it the “magic of the New Age.”

The ‘eye of providence’ mentioned on the Great Seal of the United States is also remarkably similar to the eye of Horus, and the god Horus, from which Aleister Crowley incorporated into his teaching and demonic magic. Crowley was also a part of the Masonic order of secret societies and many others that practice these forms of occult magic. Even Anton LeVay, a more contemporary (also now deceased) occultist followed in the footsteps of Crowley and continued in many of his teachings. Many of these secret societies, especially the Masons, were involved in helping the enemy lay the foundation of our cities when they were first experiencing growth and the establishment of government in those cities took place. At the same time, their occult magic was a part of the plan to keep our cities, our families, and future generations under the spell and resulting curses that came with them. Crowley not only taught on the subject but invoked the demonic spirits of ancient Egyptian gods known as “Ma’at,” which is the Egyptian word for “order.” He also called on the god of ‘Chaos.’ “Ma’at” was also known as a spirit connected to death and the underworld. 

(Note: In Isaiah 19, the reference in verse 3 is made to the “spirit of Egypt,” which is this word, “Ma’at.” When God had Moses confront Pharaoh in Ex. 5-14, it was this “Egyptian order,” or “Ma;at” that was under attack.) Do you see how all this ties in together?

There is a statue of Molech (a demonic god in the shape of a large owl) at Bohemian Grove, where many of the world leaders congregate on a regular basis. They participate in demonic rituals and call on false gods for power,influence and demonic assistance to implement their plan for a new world order. This is all part of the Illuminati's plan. I won't go into an in-depth teaching on it but you can research it for yourself to see that there is a great conspiracy among men and women of power and influence and pledging their allegiance to Satan. They have sold their souls to do evil all for the gain of worldly wealth and power. It must be stopped! We must take a stand in prayer! How that you understand more about the history, the prayer declaration below will make more sense.

What is the answer to the enemy’s plan to implement a new world order? PRAYER!.

The Decree:

Father God, Lord Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit, we ask You to forgive our sin and let the blood of Jesus cover all our unrighteousness. We declare JESUS IS LORD OVER AMERICA. We ask now for favor in the airwaves, favor in the earthly realm, and favor with You to see the deception and assignment of the enemy come to a quick end. In the name and authority of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we now make the following decree:

We decree the power of Annuit Coeptis and Novus Ordo Seclorum, which means the “New Order of the Ages” is now broken according to Your word in Job 22:28, for it is written, ‘You shall also declare a thing and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways.’

We declare that You will ruin the enemy's plans and remove the crown from those unworthy to govern. You will give the right to rule to the people who will rule in righteousness, and those You have chosen, according to Your promise in Ezekiel 21:27 and Jeremiah 23:6.

We declare that the spirit of Ma’at and it’s counsel is destroyed according to Your word in Isaiah 19:1-3(a). For the day of the Lord of Hosts shall come upon everything proud and lofty, upon everything lifted up - and it shall be brought low, according to Isaiah 2:12.

We declare that the false gods of Molech, Minerva and all those that represent the Illuminati and Satanic worship are bound in the name and authority of Jesus Christ. We command those ungodly altars to be torn down and destroyed, according to 2 Kings 23:3-4, where the people took a stand for the Lord, His statues, and His covenant. 

We declare the idolatrous priests are removed according to 2 Kings 23:5. We declare the demonic places of worship at Bohemian Grove are destroyed. Milcom the owl statue is broken and destroyed. All demonic altars, false gods and implements of Satanic worship are reduced to dust and burned in the fire, according to 2 Kings 23:12-15.

We declare ungodly thrones are overturned and the power of foreign kingdoms are shattered. You have overthrown the driving forces and those that are in league with evil forces according to Haggai 2:2. 

We declare the Lord Jesus Christ reigns over this nation of the United States of America, and our God is seated on His holy throne, according to Psalm 47:8. 

We declare that all the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord. We declare dominion belongs to the Lord and He rules over the nations, according to Psalm 22:27-29. 

We declare Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever and be a scepter of justice for Your kingdom according to Your word in Ps. 45:6.

We declare You, O God, have broken the yoke of slavery off of America and lifted the heavy burdens from our shoulders. You have broken the oppressor's rod according to Your word in Isaiah 9:4.

We declare that the burden of ungodliness is taken away from our shoulders, and the enemy’s yoke from our necks. The yoke is destroyed because of the anointing oil, according to Your word, O God, in Isaiah 10:27.

We declare that the government shall be upon the shoulders of Your Son, Jesus Christ, according to Isaiah 9:6,7 and that His name shall be called, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom; to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from this time forward and forever, Amen. We declare the zeal of the Lord shall accomplish this in Jesus name.

We declare the power of Deus, Deism, the “Eye of Providence”, the “Eye of Horus,“ and the demonic deception that originated with Freemasonry, secret societies, occult magic, sorcery, witchcraft and evil is broken according to Your word. For it is written, that YOU, O God, are the Lord our God who has brought us out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage that we should not be their slaves; You have broken the bands of our yoke and made us walk upright, with our heads held high, according to Lev. 26:13.

We decree that “it is written, we shall have no other gods before You, as it states in Exodus 20:3. We declare we shall not serve false gods, communism or caliphs. We resist the enemy and deny his authority to reign and rule over this nation. 

We declare that this nation, the United States of America, once again praises the name of Jesus Christ and You have become our salvation. We declare our praise is the gate of the Lord through which the righteous enter, according to Psalm 118:19. 

We declare that environmental toxins, chemicals and other toxic or poisonous agents in food, water, the ground or air that are assigned to kill, ruin and destroy human life shall not harm us. For You, O Lord, have said in Your word in Luke 10:19 that You have given us authority over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means harm us. This is YOUR WORD, and You do not lie. You also said in Mark 16:18 that if we ingest deadly poison it shall not hurt us at all. You gave us authority to cast out demons and lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. We agree that this is our inheritance in Christ and this we shall do, according to Your word.  We declare we dwell in the secret place of the Most High and we abide under the shadow of the Almighty. We take refuge under the shadow of Your wings and we say the Lord is our refuge and our fortress. He delivers us from the snare of the fowler and the noisome pestilence. We fear no weapon, no destruction, for a thousand or ten thousands can fall on either side of us yet it does not come near us, Your people, O God, for we make You our refuge and shelter. No evil befalls us and no evil comes near our dwelling. Your angels have been given charge over us, to keep us in all  Your ways. Your angels bear us up in their hands. The enemies and predators are trampled under our feet, and under Your feet, Lord Jesus. We set our love upon You and You deliver us from all evil and trouble. This is Your promise in Psalm 91. You show us Your salvation and satisfy us with long life according to Your word.

We speak blindness into the evil eye that watches, waits and conspires to cover injustice, hide and protect those that are in alliance with evil and corruption.

We declare that those that have been poisoned by bitterness, bound by iniquity, shall repent and turn to the Lord. No longer shall men worship an unknown god. We declare that those that have practiced magic shall believe in the One and Only True God, Jesus Christ, repent, and shall bring their magic books and burn them in the sight of all as it is written in Acts 19:19.

We declare to the spirits of fear, the anti-Christ spirit, lying spirits, pride, lawlessness and rebellion, “Be bound in Jesus name!” We declare that through the power of His cross and resurrection, these spirits have been stripped of all authority, power, and influence and we now appropriate that victory over them, commanding them to be silenced, paralyzed, and sent back to the pit of hell. We bind all spirits of Divination, the spirit of Pythos, Abaddon, Death, Ma’at, Chaos, Hell, and all the power of the enemy to silence. In the name and authority of Jesus Christ, let all the works of Satan and all those under his authority and influence be bound in Jesus name. Return to the pit of hell.

We command all demonic sorcery, hexes, spells, and all forms of magic to become powerless, deprived of all power and effectiveness in Jesus name, for it is written that “No weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against us in judgment shall be condemned, according to Isaiah 54:17. We command all demonic altars of iniquity to be immediately severed from all spirits, void of power and all ungodly altars to be silent in Jesus name.

We declare a return to truth that is according to godliness and a release of the Spirit of Truth over our families, cities, and nation. For it is written that, “You shall know the truth and the truth will make you free,” according to John 8:32.

O God we thank You for hearing our cries and taking pity upon Your people, for You have seen the oppression of Your people who are in spiritual captivity to a spirit of “Ma’at,” Chaos, Death and Hell. You have heard our cries because of these taskmasters. We thank You for coming down to deliver us out of the hand of the wicked oppressors, just as You promised in Isaiah 49:25.

We declare a release of the Spirit of Liberty, and we LOOSE the captives from their chains, for it is written, “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble and He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their chains in pieces,” according to Psalm 107:13, 14.

We say to the United States of America and it’s citizens, ‘Woman, thou are loosed from your infirmity!” Awake, Awake, put on your strength O Zion! Shake yourself from the dust, arise! Loose yourself from the bonds of your neck O captive daughter of Zion!

We declare “Let there be DIVINE ORDER, in Jesus name! Let there be light, revelation, and a release of the Fear of the Lord. We declare a SHIFT into God’s kairos timing to establish the house of David, and the government of Jesus Christ. We declare God’s order to manifest NOW in every family, every household, every church, and in our government, in the name and authority of Jesus Christ. 

We thank You, Father, for hearing our declarations and letting them be established. We come before You O God, Our Father and Our Lord Jesus Christ, who reigns forever. We declare the decree that it may be established by Your angelic hosts and the words of our mouth. As it has been decreed, let the outcome be established in truth and righteousness according to Your will. We entreat the heavenly hosts to come to our aid. We declare no one can revoke or change the decree established by Your Bride. In Jesus name, Amen.

Note: This decree can be changed to make it specific to other nations as well, just change the appropriate places to include the name of your nation as you make your declarations.

Taking Authority Over the Deaf and Dumb Spirit

I have been fasting for the last several days. Today is the fourth day. And today, when I opened my Bible, I saw something different. Something that caught my attention. It was the reference to the deaf cobra that ‘stops its ears’ in Psalm 57:4. The Lord was calling my attention to a deaf and dumb spirit.

If you recall, there is a story in Mark 9 about a young boy that was tormented by a deaf and dumb spirit. The disciples could not cast it out. When they inquired of Jesus as to the reason, He told them that this kind of spirit could only come out by fasting and prayer. (Mark 9:28, 29). In verse 19, Jesus said, “Oh faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I bear with you?” Here we see that unbelief works together with a deaf and dumb spirit. They did have some faith, just not enough to deal with that kind of spirit because it was stubborn and resistant. It didn’t just affect one individual, but many. It also is a generational curse that needs to be broken. This is how it gained significant strength and power. This spirit is not just a ground level demon. It is a much higher ranking principality that has authority over regions.

In chapter 6 of Isaiah, the prophet had a message for the people that they would suffer for their unbelieving hearts. They heard but didn’t understand; they saw but could not perceive, which meant they were spiritually blind. Their hearts were dull and their ears ‘heavy’ so that they could not turn from their unbelief and be healed. God said this would continue until their cities were completely laid waste, impoverished and desolate. This is the result of generational sin. 

The deaf and dumb spirit causes physical issues such as epilepsy and seizures, but on the spiritual side it it rooted in unbelief which causes apathy, an inability to focus (which is also distraction), spiritual deafness, and an inability to learn, receive and communicate.Matthew 13:38 reminds us that where there was unbelief, Jesus could do no mighty works or miracles. These things are what make for ‘brass heavens’ and hard spiritual ground.

The father of the boy with the deaf and dumb spirit had to overcome his own unbelief. He came to the Lord and said, “Lord, I believe, but help my unbelief!” Unbelief settles in when people have had to struggle and deal with things for a very long time and see no results. They get discouraged by the lack of change and the constant struggle. It makes no difference whether or not it is a health or physical issue, the state of their marriage, finances, employment situation or a family issue. Do you remember the paralytic man in John chapter 5? He had been in a state of constant infirmity and lameness for 38 years. Now that’s a long time. The guy was full of excuses why he hadn’t been healed. You know why? Because he had unbelief! The first thing Jesus asks him is, “Do you want to be made well?” He had to challenge the man’s heart condition that was full of confusion, double-mindedness and unbelief produced by living in that condition for a very long time. Once his heart was challenged as to what he really believed, he got his healing. As a testimony of truth to this, I have to share what happened with my husband two nights ago. My husband has had chronic knee pain from a genetic, degenerative condition for many, many years. The other night in worship I felt the Lord impress me to go pray for him (again!) and he would be healed. He has been prayed for by all kinds of people over the years but nothing did much good. This time, I felt the anointing leave my hands and go into his knees. My poor husband has had to live in extreme pain for probably 25-30 years from this condition and he FINALLY GOT HEALED! What an incredible miracle! Some things only come by fasting and prayer, and sometimes it's a timing issue as well - but never give up believing! 

Do not let doubt, discouragement or disappointment lead you to believe that God will not answer. His desire to heal, set free, and restore are very clear in the word of God. Hold fast to His promises!

Here is a prayer to deal with the deaf and dumb spirit:

Father God,

I declare and decree over myself, my family and the inhabitants of this geographic region (name your city, state) will no longer turn aside from hearing and responding to truth. I bind the strongmen of the deaf and dumb spirit, unbelief and the perverse spirit in the name and authority of Jesus Christ. I bind up the spirit of heaviness that brings hopelessness. I forbid them from speaking, influencing, controlling or dominating others. By the authority of Jesus Christ I render them powerless, paralyzed and impotent. I command these spirits to be dismantled, torn down and sent back to the place God created for them in Jesus name.

I release the Joy of the Lord, a Spirit of Faith, Purity, Love, and Resurrection power by the Holy Spirit to go forth over this land in the name of Jesus Christ.

Lord Jesus, I ask You to release Your angels to surround my family, our cities and war against these strongmen spirits. I bind all interfering and assisting demons that try to enforce and support those being torn down, in Jesus name.

I declare that the ears that have been dull and without understanding, those that have sought comfort through denial, and those that have been under a spirit of stupor are opened now, in the name and authority of Jesus Christ, according to Mark 7:35. Lord Jesus, you said in Isaiah 61:1 of your word, “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;”

Therefore,

I declare that every agreement with the enemy or works of darkness are now broken in the name and authority of Jesus Christ.

I declare that my family and those in my geographic region, in (city, state) have turned back to You, O God, that they may be healed.

I command the deaf ears to be opened now in the name and authority of Jesus Christ.

I command the dullness to come out of people’s hearts, and they have been given a spirit of understanding from Your Holy Spirit, according to Matt. 13:15 and Is. 11:2.

I break the spirit of stupor and release clarity, focus, and healing to people’s minds. I declare that Your words are clear to them according to Mark 7:14.

I declare that people everywhere hear the word of the Lord and are compelled to do what He says, according to Acts 10:33.

I declare that people will give up their other desires and pursue the Lord Jesus Christ, according to Mark 8:34.

I declare people will confess the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved, according to Romans 10: 9,10.

I declare that false brethren and lying signs and wonders will not deceive the righteous nor turn them away from the way of righteousness, according to Mark 13:22.

I declare the spirit and power of repentance is released now to make people ready to turn their hearts back to their heavenly Father, according to Luke 1:17 and Malachi 4:6.

I declare that people have cried out to the Lord for their deliverance and salvation, and the Lord has saved them from all their distress. He has brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and has broken their chains in pieces, according to Ps. 107. 13, 14.

I declare people are no longer dead in their trespasses but they have been revived according to Eph. 2:1.

I declare that people have turned away from their wickedness according to Acts 3:26.

I declare people have confessed their sins and received cleansing for their unrighteousness according to 1 John 1:9.

I declare people have confessed their sins one to another so that they can be healed, according to James 5:16.

I declare the generational curse of unbelief is broken according to Malachi 4:6.

I declare our land, families and our cities are healed according to 2 Chronicles 7:14.

I declare and decree that people will be found watching and waiting for Jesus Christ according to Luke 8:40.

I declare that Jesus will find great faith according to Luke 7:9.

I declare restoration is released according to Ezekiel 36:29-36.

I declare the waste places are rebuilt and the breach has been repaired, according to Is. 58:12.

I declare rivers of joy are flowing in dry places, according to Jer. 31:9 and Is. 41:18.

I declare the head of the serpent that causes spiritual deafness is cut off, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Addendum posted 5/7/14:

I beleive this is a strategy from the Lord. Fasting, prayer and the above declaration. This morning the Lord gave me this: On the fourth day of Cornelius' fasting (read Acts chapter 10), he got a divine visitation from an angel to tell him that his prayers and alms had caught heaven's attention. God had arranged for a messenger to be sent to Cornelius' house so that his whole house could HEAR the gospel and be saved! I believe this is a word in due season for many people right now. Fasting opens up revelation and catches heaven's attention, but so does a lifestyle of giving and generosity. Do you need God to send a messenger to your unsaved loved ones, or those that have gotten off the path of righteousness? Those that are living in unbelief? This is a key to their breakthrough. Fast, pray, sow a seed into someone that cannot repay you. Remind God, not of your works, but on the fact that He is no respecter of persons. What He did for Cornelius He can do for you. Just ASK!

Your Shield and Great Reward

How would you feel about your problems, trials and frustrations if you realized that GOD ALMIGHTY IS YOUR SHIELD? The same promise that God gave to Abraham in Genesis 15:1 belongs to those who belong to Christ. God said to Abraham, "I am your shield and your exceedingly great reward." A shield is used for protection. God is your defense!

In a recent dream, I was being chased by enemies and one threw a knife at my back. (Thank you Holy Spirit for the heads up!) I saw it coming and immediately cried out, "Jesus, You are my shield and my exceedingly great reward!" INSTANTLY the knife that was coming at me flipped in the air and began to chase down the one who threw it. He ran for his life! What a revelation, right? If you're under attack, persecution or encountering trouble, begin to declare, "Jesus, You are my shield and my exceedingly great reward!" Watch what happens next!

God is bound by His covenant with us. Your enemies become God's enemies' - but God's enemies becomes yours also. He is in it with us and He is our shield. Our defense! God has promised to do exceedingly ABOVE all we ask or think according to His promise in Ephesians 3:20. He is your shield that goes before you. He is our blessing, and His shield surrounds us with favor. What a great promise! Fear finds no place where the Lord of all our impossible situations stands between us and our enemies. The glory of the Lord comes behind us as our rear guard to keep watch against ambush attacks of the enemy. Whatever enemy it is, you can face it head on knowing that God is for you and working on your behalf to make His good plans for your life come to pass.

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart exults, And with my song I shall thank Him.” – Ps. 28:7

“The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. “ – Ps. 18:2

“After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, "Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; Your reward shall be very great." – Gen. 15:1

“Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.” – Prov. 30:5

I love Psalm 35 also. King David is the author of Psalm 35, and it was written at a time when He desperately needed God’s intervention to deal with his enemies. King David understood the important secret we also need to know: God is bound by His covenant with His children to deliver help in our time of need. He IS our shield and military help at the time when our enemies gather against us. David’s heart was reassured that God would rise up in His defense!

Do you need a prayer to assure your heart? Do you need a prayer that will rise up as a call for help against any enemy? Here is a prayer for you!

Lord Jesus,

I thank You that you plead my cause with those that strive with me. You fight against those who fight against me, according to Your word in Psalm 35:1. I take hold of You, my shield and buckler, and I thank You that You stand up for my help. You have seen those that pursue me and you have reassured my soul that YOU ARE MY SALVATION.

I thank You that those that wait for you shall never be put to shame. Those who seek my life are turned back, sent into confusion, and those that try to harm me in any way whatsoever bring shame and dishonor upon themselves. This is your promise in Ps. 35:4.

I thank You that the angel of the Lord chases those that come against me. Those that insist upon acting as a destroyer or accuser in my life fall into the very destruction that they intended for me.

I thank You that you are awakened to my vindication and my enemies shall not rejoice over me. Those that rejoice in my hurt are brought to shame and mutual confusion. These are my promises from Your word. You do it automatically, as a partner in covenant with me. I need not worry. Man has no power over me. The enemy has no power over me. No weapon formed against me shall prosper and every tongue that rises up against me is condemned, according to Your Word. I praise you all day long and I rejoice in my salvation. You are my shield, my buckler, my strong tower. You take up for me in the day of battle.

Therefore, I bless my enemies and ask that You bless them with a heart that is changed; a heart that can receive Your truth and revelation. Bless them by giving them an encounter and revelation of Jesus Christ. Show them Your love and your grace. Bless them in any way you desire. Let their hearts be released in humility and repentance to stop persecuting Your servant. Thank You, Father, Lord Jesus and Holy Spirit for Your love and help that protects me and assures my heart. In Jesus name, amen.

Who's on the Throne?

Life happens. It's how we respond to situations that makes all the difference. We are not meant to live off our feelings. Those that live from one feeling to another will get addicted to the emotional roller coaster and actually create their own drama because it feeds their need for attention and emotional highs and lows. A person that repeatedly confesses negativity and unbelief has chosen to live under a curse. Anyone aligned with unbelief is in rebellion towards God. His hands are tied until the person repents. He cannot bless what is aligned with Satan! He blesses what is aligned with faith. Everything will go wrong because negativity and complaints are constantly rehearsed and spoken. We will have what we confess!

I was once at that place in my life too, so please don't take this as judging, BUT -in order to set others free it requires speaking truth in love. I am not condemning anyone, merely calling attention to a problem that can keep people trapped in negative cycles. When a person creates a need for drama so that they can receive attention for their problems, it is actually a much bigger problem called idolatry. The person idolizes their problems and desires praise, attention and sympathy to feed their own need for affirmation. This is often present in a person with low self esteem, identity issues and feelings of low self worth. These things work together with a spirit of self-pity, because self-pity also elicits worship to feed it's need for attention. It doesn't care how it gets it, but it is never satisfied.

The person in bondage to these spirits is a person that does not know who they are in Christ.They feed the idolatrous spirit in their life the praise and false worship that all idols require by seeking attention for their problems and a continuous need to create drama. Those that help feed this spirit in others are actually cooperating with the demons that help keep people bound. It's a form of co-dependency. People that are bound by these spirits have actually made a decision to deny the truth of God's word. This is dangerous because they live in a constant state of unbelief. They are also a person that has chosen to take Christ off the throne of their heart and enthrone Self. They cannot grow into maturity until the make a deliberate choice to deny Self and renounce those forms of idolatry in their life.

Friend, the hard part is recognizing it within ourselves. When someone speaks the truth about our situation it can cause pain, offense or anger. That response is an indicator that truth has found it's mark and is coming against a stronghold in a person's heart and life where the enemy is protecting that lie. Once we recognize where the enemy is hiding, we can then take deliberate action to renounce that false god and allow Christ to take His rightful place in our heart. We can be consumed with ourselves, or we can allow our heart and mind to become consumed with elevating Christ and walking in our real identity. A person will never walk in the authority God has made possible until they choose to discard the lie and embrace the truth. You were never meant to be a victim of circumstance or live under a curse. You can change your mind about who you are. You can change your confession to speak words of faith. By doing so, you begin to create a new cycle that includes freedom, healing, restoration and recovery. You are ALREADY LOVED. ALREADY ACCEPTED. ALREADY VALUED. You don't have to fight for it! Your loving Father loves you unconditionally. Somewhere along the line, the enemy fed you a lie that says you have to try to earn love, attention or affirmation - but the truth is, it's already yours. In Christ. May this be your day to have that revelation of the truth that makes you free!

Tearing Down the High Places

There is a testing that comes to the body of Christ prior to a move of God. God asks some questions and poses circumstances in the lives of His people to discover some of the following: "Will you lay down what's on your agenda in order to make yourself available to move with what's on His agenda?" "Can you discern between the many voices of the world, your own ideas, a good idea and a God idea?" "Are you prone to jealousy if God chooses to move through someone other than yourself?" "Can you recognize God's delegated authority?" "If God moves in a way that you do not understand or in a way that does not fit your theology, will you criticize or speak against it, or even try to hinder it – or, will you allow Holy Spirit to bring revelation?" "Are you building your own kingdom or the kingdom of God?" Many times people do not realize that they are being tested but God is in the midst of them, moving silently, presenting opportunities for each person to reveal what is in their heart. How we respond could mean the difference between being included in what God is doing or being shut out of it entirely.

As Gideon was gathering the people that would battle against the Midianites, the Lord appeared to him and said, "The people are still too many; bring them down to the water and I will test them for you there." (Judges 7:4). God was not going to share His glory with anyone that would try to take it for himself. God IS getting ready to move in a mighty way, and I believe that God is testing the hearts of His people right now. He will not allow anyone to own this next move of God or try to control it. It is not for selfish gain, self-promotion or to build man's personal kingdoms.

God will test the body of Christ to see if people will hear and respond to a call for action. That action involves tearing down the high places in our lives where self is in control rather than God. Let me jump back to the story of Gideon for a moment. The strongman over the Israelite nation at that time was Baal. The name "Baal" literally means "owner, master, or husband." Baal worship included self-mutilation, prostitution and child sacrifice. Baal worship was promoted as the state religion during the administration of King Ahab. Now look at the spiritual parallels. We know that Satan wants ownership of the earth and wants to deprive God of His rightful worship through His sons and daughters. Satan has always contended to be our master, or our husband, and has always looked for ways to get us to come into agreement with him. He knows that wherever we come into agreement with his deception also allows an open door for him to bring other forms of deception, worldly enticement, illness, ruin or things that will rob us of the desire to fulfill the call of God for our lives. Some of the manifestations of "other masters" are alarmingly evident in the lives of the younger generation as they promote mutilation, piercing, tattooing, cutting, sexual promiscuity, and emotional detachment towards pregnancy and abortion. Life by self-rule is exalted as Baal (or Satan) becomes their master and husband. The current presidential administration and many national leaders have approved legalized abortion and even the funding of it. Child sacrifice is alive and well, we've just been deceived (and desensitized) as a nation into buying into a more liberal viewpoint that attempts to justify our own god-ship issues and the premature ending of innocent lives. We've got a modern day Ahab as a national leader, and through his agenda (which promotes euthanasia, assisted suicide and abortion among other things) a spirit of Baal has strengthened its grip over our nation. 

Satan gleefully accepts the worship that is offered to him on these thrones of iniquity. A throne of iniquity, in case you aren't familiar with the term, is a place where Satan is worshipped through the actions of repeated sin. It is a modern day "high place" that needs to be torn down. This is what causes the prince of the power of the air to be able to set up and establish principalities and powers over regions. The power of sin and darkness is strengthened where ever Satan is worshipped. In order to displace and tear down these demonic forces, we must operate in humility. We must overthrow self rule and deny what our flesh wants so that Christ can rule in our heart and life. The question is, how do we tear down what we cannot see - especially if it hides in the hidden places of our own hearts?

The first thing I suggest is for each person to ask Holy Spirit to examine their heart and reveal to them whatever may be resisting His authority to rule over their heart, life, decisions - and yes, the sacrifice He may ask you to put on the altar. I will give you a hint: it is whatever feeds your flesh, ego, pride, or something from which you gain a sense of identity outside of what God has revealed in His word. It is the thing you probably do not want to give up. The second thing is to pray to surrender the things God asks as a sacrifice. The last thing I suggest is to pray our breakthrough prayer that looses the enemy off of you and eliminates the blind spots where he has had attachments to your life. Many of the enemy's strongholds live within us. We may not even be aware that they are there! The enemy hides himself in every little crevice of darkness – areas of our heart that we have not truly surrendered to the Lord. I have been at that place many times, thinking I was fully surrendered to the Lord until He started working on a deeper issue in my heart or character that I had not understood was still a "crooked place" in need of straightening. Gideon's campaign and his assignment from the Lord was to tear down the altar and the high places of Baal, overcome the Midianite army and build an altar to the Lord. It was by the destruction of the ungodly altars that put fear in the hearts of those that worshipped Baal and its ungodliness. When the Midianites saw that their god and his temple were defeated, conquering them in battle was a done deal. It wasn't the size of the army that was important; it was their commitment to the task at hand. Gideon went to battle with jars of clay, torches and trumpets. They didn't even have to do anything difficult. They did their part and God did His. He turned the enemy's camp inside out! The battle will be won with humble vessels that are passionate torch bearers for the Lord. They shed light on the path for others through prophetic revelation, and it is the decree from their mouth that will overcome the works of the enemy. God is looking for men and women who are committed to Him. He is looking for those that can discern His voice asking His army to fall in rank and follow Him into battle. He is looking for those that will take a stand. He is looking for those that will respond to a call for action. He is looking for those that won't try to take the glory for themselves, put Him in a box, or control this next move of God. Will you be one of them?

Declare: Satan, the sword of the Lord is upon you! Let the trumpets be sounded! Let the army of the Lord arise! Let God arise and His enemies be defeated, in Jesus name!

Speaking in Other Tongues

Recently I had a woman contact me and ask me if I had a prayer to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Can you believe, out of all the prayers I have on this website, I had completely overlooked that topic? Well, all I can say is THANK YOU for the nudge to now post this most important prayer!

Can you imagine sending your child off to bootcamp, knowing they will face war in their lifetime, and not send them out with any weapons? It would be unthinkable, right? Wouldn't you want them to have every weapon available to them? Yet, this is the reality of Christians that try to live without the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is MORE than just speaking in tongues.

There are SO many reasons why it’s important for the believer to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speak in new tongues. It is a power gift, and who doesn’t want more power to overcome the evil one? It gives us power to witness, inner strength to overcome temptation to sin and demonic oppression. Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth, so it reveals truth to us as well. It’s a direct prayer hotline between us and our Father that the devil cannot understand. Wouldn't you like the enemy to be completely unable to understand what you are asking God to do? God gives us this gift as a strategic tool for warfare! Speaking in your heavenly language connects you to the throne room where revelation flows. It edifies the believer and fills them with increased power and anointing. It fills the internal well with rivers of living water that encourages, builds up and releases joy. The JOY of the Lord is our STRENGTH! You need joy in order to overcome trials! There are just so many excellent reasons why a Christian should speak in tongues on a regular basis. If you want more information on this beautiful gift, study the scriptures in the Book of Acts. Jesus’ disciples were instructed to WAIT for the Holy Spirit to be poured out on them. Others witnessed tongues of fire upon them, which speaks of power and anointing. Jesus didn’t want them to go anywhere or do anything until they got this gift because He knew that they needed it in order to prove to an unbelieving world that the kingdom of God was real. How much more should we desire it too?

I believe this gift is for everyone. God is not a respecter of persons, meaning, if He gives it to one He will give it to others as well. We need simply to ask.

Luke 11:13 tells us that our Father is a good Father and gives good gifts to those who ask. "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"

The question remains, and I know some of you may be thinking this, so I’ll answer this now. 

“Why do some people receive the gift and others do not?”

I may not have the perfect answer, but I will tell you what I know. I have observed people lined up at altar calls just to receive this gift. Those who truly desired it, who had a spiritual hunger, received it. It was like, bang, bang, bang all down the row. People responded in faith and got filled just like that. God wasn't picking and choosing one person and not giving it to others. So I know the gift is for everyone. But, He does respond to those who eagerly desire more of Him. Sometimes people want the gift, but are struggling with an area of pride that tells them they will look or sound foolish, and that fear is a block to them receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit. Or maybe they have conflicting thoughts because of a lack of understanding. (A double minded man receives nothing from the Lord, James 1:7). He is a gentleman: He will not force himself on anyone especially if they are afraid of trusting Him. If they are exhibiting fear or an indifferent attitude towards Him, He may wait until they continue to press in and ask, for they may need to overcome their insecurities first. Ask the Lord to give you a jealous heart towards Him, a heart that is consumed with thoughts and desire for more of God! Personal desire for more of the Lord is KEY to whether or not people receive. Make up your mind you can't live without it and pursue Holy Spirit until you get it. It's that important!

Pray: Dear Heavenly Father,

I ask You to bless me with my spiritual language and baptize me in the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, I want you. I need you. I am jealous for your Spirit. Come, Holy Spirit, and possess me. Baptize me in fire. Fill me. I need to be clothed with power from on high. Please fill me with rivers of living water that is spoken about in John 7:38, where Jesus said that whoever believed in Him, out of his innermost being would flow rivers of living water. Jesus, I do believe in You. I confess You as the risen Son of the Most High God, who died for my sins and rose again to give me victory over the evil one. Thank You for rivers of living water flowing from within me, and answering my request for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

You may sense some strange new words forming in your thoughts. Just speak them out by faith. You may also feel like something supernatural is stirring from your belly and feel it rising up and out of you. Don't be afraid, just know it is God answering your request! One thing I know is that God responds to the hungry heart. He promises that everyone that asks, receives, and whoever seeks, they will find; whoever knocks, the door shall be opened to them. Go in faith and grab hold of your desire!   

He Heals the Brokenhearted

Several times this week I have dealt with people that are suffering from deep depression, hopelessness and severe physical issues. It seems like the enemy has been working overtime in this season to rob people of their hope. Can it be coincidental that it is getting worse right before the time when we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord? I doubt it. So the good news is, breakthrough is at your door!

There is a connection between a broken spirit, auto immune disease, and other physical issues.

Prov. 17:22 tells us, “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.”

A broken heart doesn’t always manifest in tears and other outward signs of grief. Sometimes it results in forced composure, restraint at showing emotion and hardness of heart. The person is fearful of trusting again when their heart is still separated from God and others.

Other indications of a broken spirit can be depression, shame, blaming others, unresolved guilt or regret, bitterness, unforgiveness, low self-esteem or feelings of unworthiness, immaturity, self-centeredness and selfishness, fear and anxiety.

When an individual experiences any of these things yet is not equipped to deal with them properly, it can result in other outward expressions of the inner turmoil. Perfectionism, addictions, controlling behaviors, outbursts of anger, or behaviors of an overachiever are also common. All of these are a result of a spirit of fear.

Before I go any further, I am going to tell you how to recognize when truth comes up against a stronghold in your belief system. When the enemy is guarding a stronghold and he has lies reinforced against the truth, what Satan has done is to create a false belief system to protect the web of lies from being torn apart. When truth confronts one of those lies, there will be immediate resistance to the truth. There may be offense, anger, a scoffing or mocking response, or some sort of an attitude that quickly dismisses that truth as irrelevant.( A spirit of error will also twist truth to disregard spiritual truth and accept false teaching instead, but it will also create double mindedness as truth and error will war against one another until truth prevails. When a spirit of error is at work there will also be confusion and lack of peace). Watch for those things to occur as you read through this article. If it surfaces, stop immediately and pray that God would get truth around the obstacles that the enemy has placed in your heart and mind and allow you to understand the truth that makes you free.

A spirit of fear and a spirit of heaviness are strongmen that work together to reinforce a broken spirit. The enemy works through strongholds in the mind and belief system that cause the individual to exalt emotions, fears, wrong thought processes and the lies the enemy has told them ABOVE the truth. Thus, Satan has created an atmosphere where the power of his lies appears to be more powerful than the truth found in God’s word. When this occurs, the enemy, through trickery and deceit, has successfully gained his victim’s cooperation, and caused them to unknowingly break faith with God, putting them in rebellion to the Lord. Because they are in rebellion, (often without having any understanding that is what occurred), the enemy has legal grounds to approach God to gain access to the person. Heaven and earth are subject to the spiritual principles established by God before the foundations of the earth. Whether we are in agreement with those principles or not, we are forced to abide by the laws of God. Therefore it is of the utmost necessity to understand the spiritual principles at work. When the enemy finds a legal right to inflict torment or destruction of some sort, he can visit curses upon people through disease, financial lack, broken marriages, and unleash the power of death and hell against his victims to bring all sorts of trouble, simply because of a spiritual principle of rebellion. God cannot bless anything that is operating through a spirit of rebellion because it is the spirit behind Satan himself. Self will, or self rule, is also rebellion. People that live according to their own reason and judgment rather than submitting themselves to a loving Father and obedience to God also find themselves in alignment with rebellion. Therefore, the blessing of God is often removed. Pride is the other element of this that causes individuals to become spiritually blind to their need to repent, but what they may not understand is the truth, “God resists the proud, but He gives His grace to the humble.” Therefore, we are advised, through the next line of scripture, to shut the door to the enemy by submitting first to God, THEN we can effectively resist the enemy and he must flee. (James 4:6,7). The person in deep emotional pain and brokenness may not understand that they are actually resisting submission to God, even though they may request much prayer and desire with all their heart for their prayers to be answered.

God draws near the brokenhearted, and His desire is to heal – always. Through the truth of His word we can understand that He is waiting for us to offer Him an appropriate sacrifice.

“The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject the sacrifices of a broken and repentant heart, O God.” Psalm 51:17

Some translations use the words ‘humbled’ or ‘contrite’ heart. Having a contrite heart means feeling remorse, regret, or genuinely sorry for our sin. It means to be struck in our conscience and truly understand where we are guilty before the Lord and in need of repentance.

Satan, of course, twists things around in a person’s understanding so that they stand in accusation of God, separated from Him, embittered by things such as betrayal, broken trust, unfair or unwarranted treatment from others, and many other deep disappointments that cause a person’s heart to be resistant to God, others, and – here’s the catch – resistant to FEELING remorse or the need to repent. A person in this condition can easily become spiritually blind to their need to feel anything because they are so accustomed to feeling not much of anything. Walls of self- preservation have been constructed around their heart in order to keep from being hurt again. Do you see how the enemy is so skilled in twisting truth? When a person is hurting, whether from emotional pain or physical health issues, it seems like adding insult to injury to tell them what they really need to do is repent for wrong thinking or wrong responses to God and others, and that includes ourselves! God does not accept inferior sacrifices. He wants our hearts to genuinely feel remorse for wrongdoing. If a person lacks sensitivity, they lack discernment, for one cannot be insensitive to the Holy Spirit or what grieves Him and be able to draw close to God. 

This message is written not with the intent to sound harsh or legalistic, but to enlighten the dark places of our understanding. 

“Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you, because the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all they that wait for Him.” (Is. 30:18).

God will wait. I remember a time when I was so brokenhearted and grieving over a lost promise, a death and a miscarriage of justice. Multiple disappointments layered on top of one another seemed to be more than I could bear. I could not stop crying as I was overcome with grief. I felt betrayed on many levels: betrayed by people I trusted and betrayed by God. And there the enemy waited, for the opportune time when I was weakened in faith, offended, and losing conviction towards God. He was ready with his lies in order to turn me against the One who loved me most: My heavenly Father. Lies spun in my head, turning me into an accuser towards God. I cried out, “How can I trust You, when You failed me so?” How can I ever trust You again?” “You had the power to change these circumstances and You let me down!” I simply could not understand God's purposes at the time. 

The mental torment became unbearable. I thought, where can I go if I cannot trust God? My relationship with Him was broken, and I was so angry I did not want to talk to Him. I sought comfort, but it eluded me. Finally, in my pain and torment, I cried out, “Oh God, please fight this battle for me. I cannot!” Immediately, and clear as a bell, I heard the words, “YOU fight it. And watch your blind spots!”

I tell you, it was like a slap in the face and I immediately woke up to the fact that the enemy was not playing around. He had me where he wanted me and he was going in for the kill. He wanted to take me out of the game entirely. I knew I needed to get back on my feet quickly. God was trying to help me understand that I could not afford to allow myself to surrender to feeling sorry for myself, anger, and all the tactics the enemy was using against me. It was too easy to get self focused and wrapped up in all those things. I remember saying something like, “Oh God, I may never have all the answers as to why all these things happened or why You allowed them, but I need peace. I surrender them all to You. Forgive me for accusing You of being unfair and saying things I did not mean. I know You are good, even if I do not understand Your methods.” Then I remembered the principle in James 4:6,7. I took authority over the enemy and commanded him to take everything he put on me and go back to the pit of hell. INSTANTLY the grieving and crying stopped. INSTANTLY I recovered soundness of mind and peace.

God is gracious and kind; He wants nothing more than to show us His great love and compassion to us; however, He is also bound by His own spiritual laws. Part of His justice and judgment against the enemy requires a response from us. He is after our heart! His purpose is for our surrender. When we genuinely repent for where we have been out of spiritual alignment; when we truly desire with all our heart to come back under proper submission to His authority – THEN our sacrifice is acceptable to Him. THEN one can stand and resist the enemy and he must flee. The principle of James 4:7 has been tried and tested in my life many times. It is always effective.

Our lack of understanding does not mean that we are not in need of repentance or a change in attitude. Scripture says in Hosea 4:6,  “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” Why were they destroyed? For rejecting the law of God. The reality is, the spiritual realm understands far more than humanity does when a person is out from under authority. Sometimes when people reject religious or legalistic attitudes, they swing too far in the other direction. When we try to earn approval, acceptance or forgiveness through our works, without even realizing it we can remove ourselves out from under grace and put ourselves back under the law. But, then we become subject to all the penalties of the law as well. When we break faith with God, or put idols in front of us, we can take ourselves out of alignment with God and put ourselves at risk. When we place ourselves out from under proper covering, we become subject to anything and everything the enemy chooses to throw at us. It may not even happen right away; sometimes the enemy waits a very long time to bring his destruction so that people will not connect the dots or be able to figure out where the door to him came open. SUBMISSION and REPENTANCE are the only things that successfully cut of the head of the enemy.

This is not to give the impression that we must fear everything for making the wrong decision, but the bottom line is the war is between God and Satan. It's a war for our heart. The war is over self will or surrender. A heart that is broken, bleeding and fearful of trusting God and others is still living by self rule. When we trust God, we willingly offer our heart to God in surrender and our heart becomes His to keep. It is His to watch over. He gives us a new heart that is filled with His love, His peace, and the decision has already been made. When temptations come, the enemy cannot suggest we still own our own heart and can do as we please for the decision has already been made. Our heart belongs to God, and it's His to keep. He crushes our pride that we might learn to love. For God so loves us, that He gave His only Son as an offering for our sin. He died in our place so that we might experience all that He is, and all that He has becomes ours. Our great redeemer, Savior...He lovingly waits, patient with our fears and insecurities, that we might trust Him enough to surrender it all and make Him Lord of our heart.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those that are crushed in spirit.” Ps. 34:18.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Ps. 147:3

Once right alignment to the Lord is reestablished, the next thing a person needs to do is to heal those areas of their belief system so that their foundation is strong and laid upon the rock of Jesus Christ. A house built upon the sand is unstable and shaky; it suffers destruction with every storm surge that washes away part of the foundation. Do you know why? Truth and error are not cohesive. When certain beliefs do not bond together, they produce instability, confusion, double mindedness and unfaithfulness. No one can build anything where stability is compromised. But, the house built upon the word of God (God’s proven truth) is laid upon a foundation of rock. It becomes a house that can weather the storms of life.

Romans 10:17 tells us that “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”

Earlier I referenced a really bad time in my life when I felt as if God had failed me. I had lost all confidence in Him. When a person has lost hope, one thing that will help them get it back is to begin to look at the word of God with new eyes, to cling to it as a lifeline of hope and read it out loud. Something happens when it is read out loud. All of a sudden, my faith began to be healed and my conviction of the character and trustworthiness of God once again became settled in my heart. Jesus is not the liar or unfaithful one; Satan is. Satan is the accuser. Satan is the troublemaker. I had to make a choice what I believed! Faith is established by speaking it out loud and allowing your spirit man to receive those words of life. Life is in the Word, so reading it out loud produces life. The word is truth; it sanctifies us. It establishes us. It heals us. Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and whatever we choose to listen to produces after like kind. Look up and study the scriptures on the Word of God. We do not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God!

In the beginning of this article I mentioned that there is a connection between a broken spirit, auto immune disease, and other physical issues. What happens is, the body begins to conform to the spiritual reality. When a broken spirit exists, there will be a compromised immune system. Where the immune system is compromised, there will be physical illness and disease. Many times the immune system that is designed to protect the body from potentially harmful cells or invading enemies will begin to attack the body instead. Why? Because there has been the rejection of truth somewhere, and usually, a rejection of the individual towards himself. Self rejection, regret, self hatred, unloving spirits, unworthiness and other toxic thoughts release the body to conform to the spiritual reality. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Sometimes those things do not even have to be spoken out loud, but the toxicity of the thoughts imposes harm on the body just the same.

The enemy wants to produce a broken spirit in us to deplete us of strength, defile our hearts, and extinguish the ember of hope, for without faith it is impossible to please God; but, He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. (Heb. 11:6). The Lord’s desire towards us is to be gracious. Part of being gracious is to teach us and train us for war, so that we learn from every experience and become more than an overcomer in the process. If the spirit of God lives in us, and God is greater than any adversary, illness, disease or fear that we face, then how can we NOT be more than conquerors also? Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. How often we pray that God would exercise judgment against perceived enemies outside of us; however, when God executes judgment against the enemy, it is the enemy that lives within us! It is the toxic thoughts, the lies, the fears, the insecurities and behaviors that keep us from offering all our heart to God. That is how God exercises justice and judgment against the enemy, and leads us on in triumph. Although no one wants to go through trials and battles and the things we may suffer from in this life, God does not intend any of it for our destruction. His intent is to bring us out on the other side with a testimony that will help lead others through their dark valleys and wilderness seasons. He wants to help each one of us become smarter and wiser than our enemies, but the only way for Him to do that is through our experiences.

Friend, no matter what you may have gone through, no matter what disappointments you may have experienced at the hands of others – it is not a true measuring rod to gauge the love or faithfulness of God. Emotions are faulty and will lie to us. God’s word, His character, and the sacrifice of His One and only Son on a brutal cross is the correct way to establish truth. God so loved us that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believed in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life. Don’t let the enemy lie to you any longer. Don’t let the enemy keep you separated from God or others, and don’t let him talk you into rejecting yourself, either. Jesus didn’t come to condemn you, but to seek and save the lost. He came to set the captives free.

The power of Jesus’ shed blood and the work of His cross is still more powerful than any lie of the enemy. Whatever struggle you are going through has a determined end. God has set the limits. Many times He wants us to learn something or grow through the trials so that we have more knowledge and understanding of spiritual truths and can better help someone else. But once we have gone through the process and those necessary areas of refinement, the test comes to an end, and what you are left with is the testimony of how God healed and restored your life. It is time for miracles to be released! It is time for you to recover your healing! It is time for resurrection power to flow into your life! He is bringing you out to the other side. Amen.

Father,

Forgive me for being proud or if I have somehow, knowingly or unknowingly grieved your Holy Spirit. Forgive me for hardening my heart towards You and living by self rule rather than trusting You with my heart and my needs. Forgive me for being resistant to spiritual authority whether it is in others or directly in my relationship with you. I repent for any way that I may be in agreement with the lies of the enemy, self pity or a spirit of rebellion. I willingly come back to You and submit myself under the authority of your Holy Spirit. 

Satan, as I now come back under submission to God, I reject and renounce all of your lies. I reject and renounce every way I have been knowingly or unknowingly in agreement with you or any spiritual principles by which you operate. I command you, in the name and authority of Jesus Christ, to take everything you have put on me, whether it be lies, spiritual or physical symptoms, disease or curses - and GO back to hell immediately. You have no authority to put anything on me as I break all agreement with you. 

Holy Spirit, I ask You to come now and release my healing. Let my heart, my mind, emotions and memories be healed from all trauma and disappointment, all rejection and fear. I choose this day to honor You and agree with what the word of God. I renounce all unloving spirits, all spirits of rejection, self hatred, self pity and fear. I choose faith, love, peace, joy and I choose to forgive myself, as well as others. (Insert the name of anyone you may need to forgive). In Jesus name, amen.

A Lesson From a Blind Man

A man that was blind, but desperate for healing, ignored the crowd that despised him. He ignored the mockers that told him to be silent, and threw off his garment so that nothing would hinder him from catching Jesus as He walked by. Though he was blind, Bartimaeus RAN towards Jesus, crying out, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" The moment he took the first step, Jesus heard him. He stopped, and turned around so that Bartimaeus could meet up with Him. The man's earnest plea grabbed Jesus' attention and caused him to turn around. Because he was earnest, humble and seeking the Lord, the Lord turned around and met his request.

It goes beyond just a casual meeting. Bartimaeus sought the Lord with all his heart, and the Bible promises that when we seek Him with all our heart, we will find him. (Jer. 29:13; Deut. 4:29; Acts 17:27; Is. 55:6-7; Prov. 8:17). Jesus, full of compassion, cannot resist the person that comes honestly seeking Him. The fact that He is full of such great mercy is evident in the fact that He always made time for those with needs. He stopped what He was doing in order to show how gracious and kind He was, so that people would understand the nature of their heavenly Father. Love compelled him to stop and turn around!

When a person is earnestly seeking God, they are honestly seeking God. The Lord desires truth in our innermost being, our heart. (Ps. 51:6). It means they are willing to cast off all the things they might desire in the flesh, and that can include quite a bit. Bartimaeus, like many others, was probably used to getting attention, pity, handouts and sympathy from others. The first thing he had to do was get up from where he had been sitting, probably begging for handouts. He had to break that poverty mindset and believe he could have more for his life. Self pity and sympathy seeking could no longer be his friends. He had to be willing to make a determined effort to seek out the One who could truly heal him. Blind or not, Bartimaeus needed to be willing to make the effort to connect with Jesus even though it posed a great deal of difficulty. We must be willing to come to God on His terms. In order to receive what you desire from God, you might have to let go of some things. You might have to stop trying to justify what you want when the Lord asks you to surrender to His will. The enemy will suggest you can walk a fine line, even getting your toes on the line, to push the limits of holding on to your own will. That is simply resisting God, and when we resist God, well,...He resists us. The enemy will often times wrestle with your reason because he wants you to keep that door open, whatever it is. Is there something God is asking you to surrender? There are many people who identify with being a Christian because they go to church, know about God and may even know how to talk the talk or fit in; yet their heart is not submitted to God at all. A person can know what scripture says, they can have a lot of head knowledge or even go to church and seemingly do all the appropriate "Christian" things - yet, still not LIVE in the truth because they aren't submitted to it. That is called living in deception.The truth can only set us free when we choose to walk it out and put it into practice. If a person isn't submitted to Truth (which is the Holy Spirit), then how can they possibly expect to receive from the Holy Spirit? Sometimes people don't stop to think about things like that until they get desperate enough to make some new confessions to the Lord and yield their heart to His.

I don't know what Bartimaeus had to go through, but I know that God's timing is perfect. A blind man had been in that condition a long time, but just hearing the news that Jesus was walking in near proximity immediately caused faith to spring up in his heart. He could be healed! He could lead a normal life! He didn't have to be on the welfare system of his day! Friend, don't settle for spiritual welfare. God wants more for you than that, no matter what your situation looks like. Do you know what you settle for when a situation doesn't change for a long time and you become convinced that it will never change? Discouragement. Hopelessness. Unbelief. They settle into a person's heart, and hope deferred can make a person heartsick. Jesus is here today to heal those that are heartsick. He wants to give them hope again that He is in their midst, and He won't pass by the person who is earnestly, honestly seeking an encounter with Him! Call on His name and see what great and mighty things He does for you!

Whatever Bartimaeus had gone through made him ready to run to Jesus and cast off all restraint. Sometimes you will have to stomp on your pride and risk looking foolish in front of others. You may have to ask yourself if you are allowing pride to keep you from a blessing. You may have to push through some demonic attack, encounter naysayers or those that mock your faith. Do you realize the enemy will always attempt to keep you from pressing into the anointing? The enemy will be in your ear saying, "Don't step out and do that...you will look like a fool! You will embarrass yourself!" Or any number of things he may try to whisper in your ear. You may even have to deal with other Christians that speak against you and try to discourage you in some manner. The enemy can use a lot of methods to try to discourage a person from pressing through until they grab hold of Christ and refuse to let go until they get what they came for, but don't give up! Go where the Lord directs you to go, and do what He tells you to do. Your promise is on the other side of desperation and obedience.

Friends, it doesn't matter what your circumstances look like. Maybe you can't see where you're going or what's in front of you, but throw off the excuses, the unbelief, the doubts, and call out to Jesus. Throw off the things the enemy has tempted you with to exalt your will and your desires above obedience and submission to your Father. Let your heart yield to His. Show Him that you will worship Him in Spirit and in truth. (John 4:23,24). Jesus is in your midst, and I promise you, He won't pass by those that truly want to encounter Him! The moment you take the first step to humble yourself and come to Him honestly, He turns to meet you. He listens for the earnest cry, for the heart that is willing to yield to Him and please Him by worshipping Him in truth! Today say, "Son of David, have mercy on me! Don't pass me by! I need YOU!" He will turn to meet you and release the answer to your need.
